I recorded this test for a forum I'm on to test cheapo Chinese flash paper.

Flash paper is basically paper that has been submerged in a nitrating solution (nasty stuff) and then thoroughly washed.  It should be shipped and stored wet to preserve it and keep it in a safe state.  Once dried it can be ignited and disappears almost completely with a bright yellow flash.

This stuff was shipped dry (naughty!) and burned slower than it should.

There are (at least) a couple of types of flash paper. My vendor calls them "ultra flash" (fast burning) and "pro glow" (slow burning). Maybe you got the slow kind? I used to buy the slow kind, twist it up, and thread it among electronics then rig some way to ignite it. People would freak out "Oh no, your circuit is burning up!", but it just looked that way, nothing was harmed.

Clive the fact that you still support flash in this day and age is surprising. I thought everyone was going over to html fire...

and there was no evidence to suggest the 3D printer and hairspray were connected to the fire. Regardless...Poor kid

It was so crazy and took so long for all the info to get out.

Now that's a freak incident.

Ship the both together for bonus fun and giggles!

Don't keep your 3d printer near your flash paper and use hair spray to stick your prints.. it was in the news last year...

Still safer than shipping Lithium ion batteries in quantity though I’d bet 😝😺
