Anti-aging water hydrogenator.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vBOOOw85M3Y

As quack products go this is another well designed unit that does actually put on a good show and kinda creates clouds of micro hydrogen bubbles.  It's supposed to create an anti-aging elixir and cure all ills, but in reality I'm not sure what positive effect drinking the water would have.  It will almost certainly contain some of the electrode material too, but in tiny quantities.

But this one had a slight technical issue.  A very silly technical issue that may be due to economy or maybe a difficulty in sourcing the component required.

Good effect though.  I'm sure it will have a psychological effect at least.

18500 or maybe a small quad lipo

It runs for a fixed time before cutting out. When you open the lid you do hear the pressure release.

I want to poop out hydrogen!

I'll probably show some lack of scientific knowledge here, but oh well. Water is H2O, two parts H to one part O. If you are "generating" Hydrogen from water (releasing the Hydrogen molecules) doesn't it by nature have to release O2 at the same time? That would explain the Ozone smell. And how could you POSSIBLY operate something that is releasing Hydrogen without trying to burn off the product? I'm disappointed, Clive.

Is there pressure relief somewhere? I'd imagine if you screwed the lid on tightly and left it running for a while the hydrogen pressure would build significantly.

I'm surprised you didn't try to light it. BOOM!

I think it just makes the water itself not age.

If you're electrolysing H20 the unit will be emitting both hydrogen (from the cathode) and oxygen (from the anode), in a roughly 2:1 ratio at a rate dependent on the voltage/current. Some of this oxygen presumably recombines and accounts for the ozone smell?

Is "backflushing" the result of smoking while pooping hydrogen?

Phil Collins

Fairly useless, but sure looks purdy!

It looks like a 18500 battery, I use them in my RC cars all the time...
