Inside the little UV resin curing light.

Having featured it in use recently, it seemed like a good time to take it to bits.

Inside the little UV resin curing light.

It's a very interesting item.

Gadgetman

Ah, found it on the UK eBay once I'd got the keywords.

Big Clive

Yes - eBay item number 272810158940

That might relate to the two LED chip inside each LED. But there was no independent control over which was dominant. Do you have a link to the cheap rechargeable version?

Big Clive

I know but for portable use it means lugging a power bank around as well - I just prefer the rechargeable version. According to eBay the 2 modes are not just different timings, but different light outputs as well (365nm and 405nm).

This one can also be plugged into a power bank to run it with the same lead as is used to charge most phones.

After quickly searching eBay I discovered there is a rechargeable version for as little as £5.67 in white or pink.

A rechargeable version would be great. Then the ladies could carry it around in their handbags - ideal for drying their nails after touching them up with nail varnish whilst out and about.

Off topic, but as a fan looking at the bench I see the marks and think things like, "ahh, yes the nickle metal hydride fire (s)" and, "Ah yes, the juice from the fire sprinkler" So many great adventures! This little light looks like it has room inside for a small battery; however, I didn't see anything like support stuff on that pcb. I imagine it's just as easy to have a "deluxe" version of the guts that can be dropped into that case as well. The other use that comes to mind on short notice is using the case with IR stuff as a light-based means to see which of your Hot Wheels (TM) cars crossed the finish line first. How cool would that be? Open it up, place it over the tracks and turn it on, car passes through "winner" LED illuminates or what have you. (Not all cars for use with all sets) ;)

It works without a software update can't be from Apple

Richard Boyce

Knowing apple it was probably the other way round :-)

The case of that thing is very clearly "inspired" by the Apple Magic Mouse. <a href="https://support.apple.com/library/content/dam/edam/applecare/images/en_US/keyboards/magic_mouse_hero.png" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://support.apple.com/library/content/dam/edam/applecare/images/en_US/keyboards/magic_mouse_hero.png</a>

Doesn't glass block some forms of UV (i.e. the UV that tans skin.)? Would the exposure be faster if the glass were removed?
