A nice twist on the LED "neon" effect.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iQkHwrXYwlI

I've already featured the mains voltage LED strip that produces a very diffused line of light to emulate neon, but this is a nice twist.

It's a low voltage version optimised for use on batteries in short runs, and mounted into a custom moulded channel to allow fast and precise manufacture.

Note the slight design quirk regarding the unintended recharging of the batteries when the USB supply is connected.  In a way it could be used to give a quick recharge boost to NiMh cells, but with no end of charge cut-off and quite a high trickle charge.  The resistor could also get quite hot when the batteries had low charge.

A nice twist on the LED "neon" effect.

I watch YouTube on my TV and normally have the soundbar on 20. I had to turn it up to 30 for this video. Not a complaint though, just an observation.

Sounded fine to me but I was using noise cancelling headphones.

Is it just me or is this video really quiet?

Hi Big Clive, do you not have a remote monitor from your camera on the wall above your bench ? Also when you do your next Q&A would you be able to show us around your bench setup please. Thanks Big Fella.

Wizard's sleeve :). Nice device, is there no shape the fiendish Chinese won't contort LED tape into?

Clive, is there a donation level that provides a platform for a conversation with you??
