Patreon MBC Q&A.

A longer than expected video where we sample mysterious chemically flavoured alcoholic potions and answer questions.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eoG22MnFG4o

There seems to be a noise gate on the microphone of this phone (cuts audio off below a threshold to avoid hiss) and it may have been affected by the air modulation of a strong storm outside.

I've just looked that up. It sounds a bit extreme.

Big Clive

So on the topic of mysterious flavored alcoholic potions. Ever have Malort, and if not, want some?

Nirvash

Whoo I made it to an honorable mention in the video, followed by the Rugby players talking about their ball maintenance. LOL! As a follow up, the Head and Shoulders with Eucalyptus combined with a nice stiff bristle brush has worked out amazingly so far.

I've already done an electric shock resilience test on Kevin. He managed admirably.

You could mix a teardown with MBC. Do a high voltage isolation test on them. Have some scalpels to open them up. Swap out their bits with different colors. Charge and discharge to measure their capacity. They're already pink, kinda, so that would work with the running theme.

Nani Isobel

There does seem to be a noise gate. I'm not sure if I can actually turn that off.

Big Clive

Great video, though I will have to watch it in parts. One sidenote: I think your camera / phone's noise cancellation (or whatever) cuts off the audio quite sharply. When you all stop talking or making any sound, I can hear the background noise being cut away quite abruptly. I'm listening with headphone so it's quite noticeable.

Honey vodka! Genius. Definitely making some. I do a good range of vodka flavoured with interesting stuff. I’ll send you some so the MBC can check it out.

That one seems to based on the Lepton imager by Flir with a thermal resolution of 80 by 60. That's what my Flir E4 was hobbled to internally until the community released a naughty script that unhobbled all the features and made it a full 320 by 240 resolution with its larger sensor array. That said, for the money the 80 by 60 resolution is still very useful and gives good information.

Big Clive

OT:- BC, can you do a video about IR cameras? I am considering the FLIR TG165. I want one but do not know if one of the cheaper versions of the make that you have would be rubbish or not. Want one for my 60th birthday present. I was wanting one of those nice microscopes with an LCD screen, but changed my mind.

You can be an honourary member.

Big Clive

A little disappointed my honourary MBC membership request was declined but it sounds like I wouldn't have qualified anyway not being a Ramsey-boy. :-) My stomping grounds were more in the Castletown area. Keep the MBC videos coming!!!

Howard Simons

It wasn't that level of storm. Just enough to make some noise.

Big Clive

Yeah, a lineman spending the evening drinking while a storm rages outside. Temp fate much?

I love the MBC videos. Just watching while playing some Civ.

I've got that analyser sitting next to the bench waiting for a suitable battery to analyse.

Big Clive

Good stuff, gentlemen!

Been watching your channel for quite some time but didn't know that I could subscribe and see them in order. So for quite a long time all I did see was just the bench vids. Seeing these types of vids I got to put a face with the voice and hands. BTW did you get any use out of the battery analyzer I sent you? Hope it was useful. Don't worry I had to buy like 20 of those for a past project and had few left over. 7 years ago they cost like 400.00US but now no one wants them.
