USB poop illuminator.

It's the latest version of the movement detecting toilet-rim light, and now it's rechargeable.

This unit did make me wonder if anyone has built a power bank into a toilet rim yet, so you can charge your phone while you browse the Internet on the toilet.

I bet the Japanese automatic toilets have USB ports on them.

Well, Kohler has one out. It's called the NUMI Intelligent Toilet WITH remote! <a href="https://www.us.kohler.com/us/numi-comfort-height-one-piece-elongated-dual-flush-intelligent-toilet-w-skirted-trapway-and-standard-remote/productDetail/toilets/1334092.htm" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://www.us.kohler.com/us/numi-comfort-height-one-piece-elongated-dual-flush-intelligent-toilet-w-skirted-trapway-and-standard-remote/productDetail/toilets/1334092.htm</a>

Interestingly these are being sold in Wilkinsons under the Croydex brand for £8

A relative posted a picture of a Japanese toilet console and I was disappointed by the lack of USB. Can’t post pictures here, or I’d share it. Update to say I shared it via the community page.

I watched this whilst on the throne, quite fittingly.

That version is for a single LED as used in battery operated closet and corridor lights. I didn't find any version on their website that had the RGB function and same pinout. One did do RGB but required external amplification and filtering for the PIR sensor.

Just searched eBay, and found this one. A little more hygienic battery change though I think? <a href="https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F282958678910" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F282958678910</a>

Hi BigClive. Did you happen to look for the chip printed on the pcb? If so, then ignore me, but if not, then here is the web link for the chip, and then the download for the pdf (hopefully!) ... <a href="http://www.aschip.com/products.php?Keyword=AS084" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">http://www.aschip.com/products.php?Keyword=AS084</a> Having looked at the pdf, it does have an led output, but that said, it does look like the AS092 is a specialist chip for that product!

Yes. When you steal them from other people's toilets.

It was the weirdest spoon I could find in a drawer of random cutlery that was here when I moved in.

I purchased one of these a few years ago to surprise my young grandson when he came to visit. He loved it. It is especially nice as you don’t need to put the main lights on to ensure “accuracy” or indeed a safe landing if sitting! Only the light stem goes inside the bowl so BC was getting a little carried away in his musings. I found it provided a most gratifying glow between my legs when sitting. An excellent piece of technology application!! Provided many pleasing nocturnal visits to the can! A must buy. The little rat eventually took it so I am reminded to repurchase!

All these comments and not one asks, A mustard spoon!!! Who in this day and age has one of them?. Please tell me you have a set, salt, pepper and mustard bowl. And you use them lol. 😁

Excellent! Are they available used?

Speaking of IR sensors, I noticed <a href="https://www.mouser.co.uk/search/refine.aspx?Ntt=145139989" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://www.mouser.co.uk/search/refine.aspx?Ntt=145139989</a> this week: a 32x24 pixel IR sensor with I2C interface for £35ish. Libraries and examples make it look simple to use, and it doesn't even require many external components. There are also breakout boards from the usual suspects. 60 and 120 degree FOV versions too.

Charging a phone while holding it is a terrible idea since that destroys the connector over time due to physical stress. And replacing a usb port of a phone can be very difficult.

You might like this better execution of a toilet based led:- "Euroshowers PP One LED. Article number: 89510. A new toilet seat with great features. Discreet lamp that lights up the whole toilet bowl. Love your detailed breakdowns. Don't think I would buy one for it's purpose but it's an interesting enough device. Thanks Clive keep them coming.

It must be a great job fixing those. Almost as good as repairing macerators that shred your poo and pump it down narrow pipes.

Big Clive

I have accidentally probed the pictures in the past.

Big Clive

I really shouldn't watch your videos after a long, tiring day. When you got the meter out, I expected you to start probing the photo of the circuit board rather than the board itself. 😊

A friend says this should be billed as an “illoominator”.

100% as far as the Japanese toilets go! For those that haven’t seen one here is what a typical control panel looks like. It is a basic one, the more advanced ones are “use at your own risk” if you can’t read Japanese. <a href="http://www.ritzcaflisch.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/attractive-japanese-bidet-in-the-toilets-of-japan-travel-opinions-pro-also-inspiring-home-plan.jpg" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">http://www.ritzcaflisch.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/attractive-japanese-bidet-in-the-toilets-of-japan-travel-opinions-pro-also-inspiring-home-plan.jpg</a>
