Good video for bedtime.

This is one of those videos that turns out so relaxed and ambient that it might make you fall asleep.

As such, I'd suggest it as a bedtime video.

Good video for bedtime.

Or any Temperature, junction, maximum.

Harri Haataja

No one mentioned the funny thing . Tjmax is also the term for the temp limit of a CPU

I've used a couple of techniques. Tupperware style food containers or a component bag with the pack inside, the open end pointing downwards and a large bulldog clip to hang the whole assembly while also gripping the bag and battery pack.

Clive while i see this, it reminds me i want to do a small garden light project. You have experience with trying to fight off water ingress i remember. Any idea what it takes to make those poundland fairy lights battery boxes somewhat water resistant? Or is that a fight you can't win?

Andreas

This is indeed a snoozy video. It's appreciated. Related to the expiration date on an NiMH, would it make sense that this date is the last date the battery can be installed from full capacity, to a reasonable time later, after it's sold and recharged again without the battery discharging itself?

Gosh...I really enjoyed thaaa...ZZZZzzzz

You're right about relaxed and ambient; this video had much more of a Bob Ross vibe to it than some of your other videos. Enjoyed it!

Seems strange to hide the panel under that cover, it would be interesting to see how it affects the charging current of the solar panel, I'm surprised enough light gets through to turn off the LEDs really. On the plus side it will be much more water resistant than previous ones you've looked at.

While the battery operated one is a great idea I picked up a 'cordless' glue gun that acts very much like an old cordless iron, it has a corded base and relies on the residual heat to keep the glue flowing. It can also be used corded as it uses a 'figure of 8' connector on the base and the gun. Great idea but the gun is a bit cheap and nasty as many glue guns are. It's still for sale on Amazon: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Amtech-S1845-Corded-Cordless-Glue/dp/B00GFLG84U Personally I'm waiting for Makita to release a rival to the Ryobi gun as I have invested in their LXT battery system.

You could do that if you added a 1N4148 diode and 100nF capacitor to stop the LEDs resetting to red on every inductor pulse. The colours may be a bit odd though, as red tends to dominate when the LEDs have a current limited source because of its lower forward voltage.

Big Clive

Beautiful recovery after the disassembly mishap! Do you suppose four slow color changing LEDs could be substituted? It's a perfect looking diffuser!

I'd never even thought about a cordless hot glue gun. Damn, that would just be handy to have around versus finding my old corded one in the basement.

This was relaxing to watch. For anybody who likes more sophisticated wiring techniques: http://elm-chan.org/docs/wire/wiring_e.html and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i5MNLTc7YhY

It's 0828 in the morning and I'm meant to be getting ready for work. I am a rebel. I refuse to fall asleep!

I was aware that Fran was being pushed out of her place. I've just given a bit to help her with the expense of the move.

Big Clive

another great little hack. Thanks Clive, love your work, Cheers mate.
