Halloween image projector.

This turned out to be quite basic, but interesting with two decent quality modules.

The power supply is rated 3V at 1A and the LED module projects a fairly sharp image.

Skulls have everything to smile for. They're no longer eligible for tax.

Big Clive

It has a "light angel"... I'd think it would be a "dark angel" considering the subject matter...

Daddy Bearcat

It sounds like it would be easier to print "Not for use in California." on stuff.

The Prop65 warning thing is basically a very long list of things that have been convinced to the California state government that might have a possible link to cancer or birth defects. So if you sell a thing or have a place might have a chance that it may contain something from the P65 list, and you haven't put the P65 warning on it, it means a lawyer, who may never have actually interacted with the thing or been to the place, can file a lawsuit against and collect a bunch of money. It's safer just to put the warning on everything if is possible going to be sold in California. This is also the same thing with the warnings on plastic bags telling you not to wrap them over the heads of babies, you can thank us for that too. This had led to the rather silly outcome where new cars sold here come with warmings on the driver side window telling you not to eat the vehicle because it might be bad for you.

The skull is smiling! Why? Skulls have no reason to smile.

We have that “warning” in our building lobby. Make it seem like California is just a cesspool of chemicals.

Clive, I think I prefer the non-glossy PCB photo - was a great visualisation for us that you can doodle right on it.

Yeah, I do like that phrase.

SMA? There's your problem lady... ;)

Clive needs to start his own line of branded tools, with those names. :) The Sledgehammer of Gentle Persuasion. The Pie Tin that Loves Exploding Lithium. Etc ... :)

Replying to my own - very sad - I have included a picture and a short video. I hope you don't mind me adding things like this here in Patron. Clive this is JFI no need to take your time replying. Last time I did something like this was back in 1989 when someone supplied me with the wrong LCD panel and no data sheet so I was unaware that it needed [ 9V + and - ] took me ages to figure that one out. After modification to the one on the right to run the motor from just 2 of the three batteries it now runs slower and quieter but now it draws about 4 micro amps when turned off, just enough for the red LED glow that can be seen in the picture if you zoom in. This is due to the way I have tapped off the 2 batteries, I think the battery I bypassed is feeding the LEDs. I guess a better way would have been to add an extra resistor to drive the motor, but I do not think it will make any difference to how long the batteries will last for a Christmas decoration. I hope the links work. <a href="https://youtu.be/9qyx1WBtnJY" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://youtu.be/9qyx1WBtnJY</a> <a href="https://photos.app.goo.gl/Y5eB3DoTpNXTy7gj6" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://photos.app.goo.gl/Y5eB3DoTpNXTy7gj6</a> John

The flame effect lamp market has been swamped with different units over the last couple of years. You never really know what you're going to get. Some of the lamps are a really realistic effect and some not quite as good, but still convincing from a distance. They do USB powered ones, lots of different colours and even a rainbow one.

Clive base on your investigation with the mains powered FIRE bulbs I took my purchase to Canada and ran it on 110V and it was very good my father loved it in the fireplace, so while there I did a Banggood order to be delivered to his house they sent B22 even though the order was for E27. He has mounted them on a small frame with some reflective mirror effect to make a blazing fire substitute. When I was back home I ordered 3 more for me to do the same thing, they arrived yesterday and just thought I would mention they have changed the software and possibly the internal construction. The new lamps are brighter and have more flicker fire effect but I thing they have over done it ? so I may need to diffuse the lamps a bit more. Also they run a bit warmer but not much. I was thinking of the BLACK mirror LED frame you made. 5W E12 E14 E27 E26 B22 3 Modes LED Flame Fire Light Effect Simulated Corn Bulb AC85-265V - E14 ID: 1284749 cost for 1 = £7.29 cost for [3pcs = £18.59, £6.20 each] www.banggood.com/5W-E12-E14-E27-E26-B22-3-Modes-LED-Flame-Fire-Light-Effect-Simulated-Corn-Bulb-AC85-265V-p-1284749.html John

Clive I can't find this online I could up load a picture if you wanted, other shops may have it in stock. I found it in the www.cardfactory.co.uk LED Domed diffuse spinning Father Christmas. "Light up Disco Santa £2.49" The dome spins too fast so I moved the motor wire to run off just 2 of the three batteries and left the resistor driving the R G B LEDs ( not a balanced load, but then again do find one cell dies before the others anyway ) I often run things like this on "part used" batteries and put them on something in case they leak The instructions say 3 AAA but they are AA batteries I think it needs the LEDs re-positioning to get a better effect Just a thought for you. I like your videos where you tear things down and hack them, don't change. I think this has further scope for hacking especially for "a Clive Hack" lol
