Inside an airwick mist unit.

A look at an interesting aroma unit that uses and ultrasonic atomiser to create a fine plume of aroma on a timed basis.

It's quite a complex circuit, but I can't help feeling that the Chinese would copy it with a single generic 8 pin microcontroller.

If you read (and understood) the product safety datasheets for "air fresheners" you would not have them in your house - just saying

Clive, have you considered finding some application that overlays a DMM and/or DSO output (eg. from a PicoScope) directly onto the video on your phone's camera image - like a sort of heads-up display for tear-down artists. For that matter, you could use one of those snake-cams and have your 'microscope' inserted picture-in-picture. This would all be dead easy with an HD camera, Ninja Blade recorder, vision mixer, PC etc. but I wonder if there's an app for Android has this capability..

I prefer to stand at my workbench and also when I'm using the computer.

I would be tempted to use fluorescent liquid and replace the LED’s with something that would make it fluoresce. Dunno if it’s possible.

Forgot the enter sends. I have had it with AliBaba and AliExpress. The latter is owned by the former. Their "chat" system has not worked for days. I have had one problem too many. The first was the DSO oscilloscope that I ordered with the SMDsa soldered on. I got a kit with them loose and was asked to return the kit I got, at over half the cost of the kit. AliExpress, due to their poor English did not find fault with the seller in spite of screenshots. The straw that broke the camel's back was a seller who arranged to send me another IC for a kit that was not working. When I tried to message him to ask if it had been sent, I found he had blacklisted me! It's Banggood and eBay only for me now.

I cannot sem to send a message to all in this group, so forgive me for posting this here.

"Contaminate your air with aromatic pollution..." What lovely phrasing Clive, you must need a bloody big stick to beat back all the Corporate Shill Vid sponsorship offers... :) I suppose the concept of these things is fine enough, but there's a major caveat when it comes to installation. See, we have one of the "glade" units in the dunny at work, but some genius decided to mount it on the back of the door at head height. So I go and pay a visit to the smallest room, close the door, turn around... and cop a blast full in the face. It's a good thing I wear specs, or it would have been like getting hit with pepper spray!

Have you looked at the JYETech DSO Shell https://jyetech.com/Products/LcdScope/e150.php BTW thanks for all you entertaining videos they do cheer me up. I have bought a few versions of DSO from Banggood that seem to be the real thing. Thought it might be handy for you to use one and show us some of the wave forms etc. [depending on the frequency range] The DSO would be under the camera rather than trying to look at a big bench oscilloscope. What happened to the Oscilloscope you had over a year ago. Waffle warning A few weeks about I had an accident on Ebay and bought a FAKE DSO150 that was also broken, just had a refund after jumping through hoops by sending photos and video of it failing to power up at STEP 1. The emails they sent me to test the device would make a comedy sketch. I tend to be wary of Ebay with some solder kits,,, so why was I daft enough to buy it. Well widows did an update on my Lenovo laptop and when that happens they for some unknown reason turn on [One finger Click/Select] which is a PITA. So as I moved my mouse pad cursor across the Ebay screen "Buy It Now" was clicked and for some reason the "Review and buy" did not popup it went straight to pending payment [I have fixed it now] Clive if you have read this far you are [daft as a brush with no bristles] Have you any funny stories about things that have gone wrong madly wrong using ONLINE PURCHASES http://www.bbc.co.uk/northyorkshire/voices2005/glossary/glossary.shtml Like a friend of mine did 1989 he ordered from the USA a Soundblaster card in March and was given a delivery date of 07/21/1989 being the impatient type he ordered another from the UK that had a better delivery time .... both arrived the same day around the end of March. He was a bit upset about the £££ so I bought the spare one. I remember having fun with sound blaster Sabatos Parrot and altering what it said. John

Idea- Sticky tape your name to the bench [centre of shot - parallax method] Just a thought, then when your are working if you can't see the tape then you will be in shot. I remember the old underwater cameras with a large plastic rectangle view finder like this http://www.vintagescubasupply.com/hwmako.jpg Thanks you prompted me go go and look at old diving gear online [I still have quite a bit of 1970's gear] John

Clive. Nobody wants you to stay in shot when you "pop it out"

One of your comments regarding your position at home. Do you normally stand up whilst at your work bench? I'd always assumed you sat down!

I tried it with a flame above it and the spray didn't combust.

Big Clive

Airwick mist ultrasonic flame thrower ? just a thought

It would be funny to switch out the sent fluid with a malodorant like skeatol and make a modern fart machine.
