Random video about a faulty light.

This video was recorded at the boxy work-accommodation and while walking back from work (after beer) with my meddlesome work colleagues.

It's about an interesting road signage light that was one of several that were pulsing continually due to an interesting failure mode.

That street needs another sign leading up to it stating "CAUTION - FLASHING SIGN AHEAD"

Seems like a bit of a love-hate relationship with old mate Vince. He was the one egging you on with the nutella chilli if I recall correctly. Love your work Vince, keep it up mate. :) On topic: A bank near where I was living a couple of years ago had this same issue with one of their external LED floods, the place looked like it was in the process of being robbed every single night for about a year, until they finally replaced the fixture.

speaking of disco mode I put the wrong led's in 4 lights to build lights for a party

Made the mistake of enjoying a nice pint of bitter when you were being molested. Ended up making a huge mess of my laptop. Thankfully I had a keyboard cover that saved the day. But on another note, I went to a convenience store that just got renovated and over half of the LED lights were doing just what this light was doing. For the past week my area has been hit with electrical storms. My whole house TSS took 45 hits. So I am betting those lights fell victim to the same spikes. The store is less and a half mi from my house.

Most of the new LEDs lamp here in Calgary are pretty decent but you do see the odd one with either the whole fixture or part of the fixture flashing. Bit disheartening on a new fixture, but there are thousands out there in the city. Same thing used to happen on sodium fixtures when someone tended to cheap out and put lower quality sodium bulbs that tended to cycle. Phillips used to be a good sodium brand, but by the end most of those bulbs seemed to have that problem. Old sodium fixtures installed nearby in 1985 actually lasted for nearly 20 years, however they were on the dimmer side. Not bad though.

I saw the same thing last year at my working facility. Outside were relatively new led lights bur some started flashing some day and a few weeks later others joined them an then there was a whole series of flashing led lights outside which strobed in different speeds but a bit slower than your street light there
