Normal service resuming soon.

The job is done, the lights and distro have been boxed and shipped back to the depot, and I'm finally getting to sleep in a bed better suited to my size. (The student accommodation that was provided had single beds.)

I know you guys prefer the ambient bench teardowns, so when I get back to my bench in a week I'll be making up for lost time.

Right now I'm in Glasgow (Scotland) looking for nice "stuff" to take apart.

I've received the avo devices, thanks.

Big Clive

I want to join the Manx beard club. Can you do a video showing how you groom your manly mane?

Thanks. I look forward to receiving them. Leaky batteries is the curse of older electronic equipment.

Big Clive

I'm back on the IOM now. What is it you've got?

Big Clive

Opened one up today... https://youtu.be/RBSBPiO-Neg

Hey Clive, don't know if you're still in Glasgow but I've got some old electrical gear for you to teardown, I'm in Port Glasgow, let me know if you want me to get them to you or if I should post them to the Isle of Man

Seconded...

Michael Thompson

"normal" is such a terrible word in the bigclive world. I'm waiting for random service to be resumed. Random is much more fun :)

Chloe Cresswell

I have a couple of smoke vent actuators if you want something a bit different, I'm in Greenock so can drop them to you this weekend before you head back.

The Tinkering Shed

Heard a rumour about missing pyro gear from the tattoo... Don't believe a word of it... :P

Scott Miller

No worries, I know that you have a life and work out side of Youtube.

Charles Bruckner

I’m worried! I saw a big guy with beard holding a sign in Glasgow yesterday that read “Will take things apart” the sign didn’t even say anything about money???

Lostngone

You do us well, so no worries!

no worries, it's been great to be out on the road with you :)

Rob Yeates

It’s all good Clive. I’m looking forward to seeing what tech treasures you found to tear into. I do like the bench stuff! Safe travels.

I am missing my usual bench with the tools and equipment at it.

Big Clive

Travel safe mate. cheap lithium batteries from China have a reputation for a reason. Steady as you go. :D

Chris Talbot

I have enjoyed these videos just as much as your regular content! Wouldn’t complain if there were more in the future

Rob Smith

Clive, I literally have a box sitting here full of cheapo multimeters from aliexpress (I kindof had a whim and bought one of almost every sub-10-euro meter they had), all packed up and ready to post to you if you can give me an address or PO box or something to send it to... :D

Mark Dennehy

Glad to hear you’ll be back at the bench soon, but thanks for taking the time to keep videos coming whilst you’ve been working away. Yes they’ve been different to normal, but that doesn’t mean less interesting. Keep up the good work!

I can't wait you must be having home bench withdraw

God 420

I have those led traffic light power supplies and leds I would like to send you

You had your chance Clive. You had almost unimaginable numbers of electronic gizmos to work your magic on, but you played it safe and put them all back in to storage, all nice and safe like. ;-). Seriously though, your behind the scenes footage and interviews have been great. Hopefully you might do more "behind the scenes" of other tech work you do. It is all very interesting.

I've really enjoyed the backstage stuff, don't feel you've got to chain yourself to the bench all of the time!

Very interesting series of videos showing how the event is staged, thanks Clive. Probably best that not much blew up there 😁 but you can make up for it!

Tear down something different, like a big/complex device.

The Defpom

I think you should go with the YouTube ASMR trend and do a 'whispering teardown' ;-)

Dave Davies

Hope we get to see some more projects. Diamond lamp is still going strong and the solar lights are awesome.

Neil Tonks

No preferences here, I come for your banter and the subject of electrickery.

It's once a year! I have zero problems with the break, but will still enjoy more teardown action as well!

Michael Thompson

Single beds are horrible when you want to sleep with your partner. Which raises a number of questions... ;)
