And back to fixing LED lamps again....

It's actually a while since I've taken apart a plain LED lamp, so fixing this one seemed like a good idea.

It's one of those weird lamps that just pops up from time to time. The listing I bought it from is currently showing as sold out. https://www.ebay.co.uk/p/8023101868

Thanks Clive. I would like to know what to search for in Ebay for this kind of lamp. I don't like the surface mount LED types.

Great save on the lamp! I recently had to replace an outdoor porch light for my mother in law, and while the fixture is actually very well suited for the task it was difficult to explain to her that the thing is considered disposable as opposed to serviceable because of the sealed LED arrays used in the panels. We all agree it's stupid and immensely wasteful.

Glad you're feeling better Clive.

Partly a burst of inspiration and partly trying to catch up with the small reserve of videos I keep for release on YouTube after the recent flu/cold thing caused me to lag behind.

They're probably what's left of perforated tabs between the PCBs used during manufacturing, to make things easier to handle. While you can route most of the circle, routing all the way would leave you with a bunch of PCBs rattling around inside the CNC machine... and that would also be rather impractical if they use e.g. through-hole insertion machines or wave solderers, since they can usually only handle rectangular boards.

It would seem it was a good week to finally become a Clive patron!

Something strange going on. Two Clive videos.......during the day :D

While you are trying to re-insert the circuit board I can see a short serrated section along the top edge. Is that to help insertion, to help stop it from spinning, or something else?
