Decent LED head-light.

Head mounting lights are one of my favourite type because they put the light right where you need it at all times.  The quality can be a bit variable, but this one is actually pretty good.

The capacity of the cell took me by surprise.  I was expecting it to be quite low, so when it just kept on charging I was beginning to wonder if it was overcharging a small cell.

Decent LED head-light.

I wonder if it was intentional to give it the mouth, nose and eyes look!

Well...'Clive-itis' nearly struck again with this one, as I was tempted to make use of it while walking the dog. However, the route would take me past my local off licence, whereupon I would be susceptible to secondary Clive-itis (the purchasing of a bottle of Jägermeister). Fortunately, the fear of accidently leaving the LED head lamp on my head, in “annoy-the-sh*t-out-of-passing-car-drivers” flashy-mode precludes me from purchasing one of these as the strobing might also induce a grand mal in the gentleman who serves behind the counter of the off licence. So, I shall rest easy in my bed tonight, happy for the Uni-T Clamp to be my most current ‘Clive-itis’ purchase, thank you very much!

I know I have at least one if not more head lamps. They are one of those gifts I keep getting from non technical relatives who "know i like this stuff". That is by no means a complaint it is simply how it seems to go. I personally love all of this stuff as I'm sure you all understand. I never met a flashlight that didn't cause some level of interest...i guess it gives us an excuse to stay close to the good old battery swich light bulb goodness that brought us here to begin with! .... well that and seeing in the dark of course.

Same as https://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=15989 ? (that's monoprice's store brand)

Yeah. Almost like they were designed for kids.

I'm away from my usual bench at the moment. If I was there I could have popped a thermocouple between them.

Interestingly enough, just last week, I bought a head lamp that uses this EXACT same body - right down to the glow-in-the-dark buttons and purple cube graphic on the headband, except mine says "LE" instead of "Head Lamp". It's got the same 1200 mAH battery, but a different board inside, and instead of IR triggering, the 5mm emitter/detector pair are replaced with a pair of red LEDs, cycled through on/flash/off with the left-hand button.

The norwegian warning on the box was a nice random feature (it's says "watning: contains small parts, not for kids under 3 years", complete with typo).

spectacular lamp! now i want one

I'm glad that the Chinese companies are making the straps a decent length now. Previously I had a great headlight but my head was hourglass shape after a few hours.

A 400 milli amp LED will run fairly hot. Is the heat sink next to the cell going to be a problem?
