Unusual mounting system for LED neon strip.

Slightly different sound and look due to travel.  I also picked up this LED "neon" sign on my travels.

Initially I thought it was a bit tacky, but on closer inspection it's actually a very fast and logical way of making a sign.

I was in today and got another style. Both about £12.

What Was The Cost Of It?

Looks like PET plastic which is strong and durable. Wonder if they use recycled PET bottles. That would be good.

I've often pondered making a small vacform unit.

Big Clive

That is clever and pulls off the look of neon. I don't have any problems with it. If I saw this tacked to the back wall of say an ice cream shop I don't think I'd look twice.

Michael Thompson

Clive you now need to make a version with your logo or maybe one of your patreon`s with the relevant hardware can knock you one up.

All I saw was this type.

Big Clive

I like that idea, simple but effective plus it makes it easily hackable!

The Tinkering Shed

Yeah, now I get what you said about it live yesterday... its stupidly simple but if it works.. the question is can Clive Hack it?

Jono Harley

Interesting simple construction, what other kinds do they sell?

Jeff LaHay

That IS genius. Now you need to get set up with vac forming gear before next Christmas season. I can just see it. "Clives slightly inappropriate Christmas display extravaganza!"

Scott Miller

I do get contacted by people who enjoyed my analysis of their designs.

Big Clive

This one came from T J Hughes. Poundland does have the palm trees, Toucans and Flamingos though. £5 each and battery operated.

Big Clive

Please say that you got it in Poundland. Haven't been in for a few weeks and need something bright and cheerful.......and cheap!

John Carr

Quick and easy to make ... cheap to buy 👍

God 420

Quick, easy and relatively inexpensive.. good idea

Richard Boyce

back-fill the tray with epoxy?

Dustin

I wonder if it's a mark of pride for an LED or battery bank designer to see their product get kudo's from Clive.

Steve Brecht

For a disposable display it is clever. If you want something long term (maybe a yearly melon festival?) it is too cheaply made. I wouldn't buy it myself, but if you were going to hang it up in a dimly lit bar then it would be okay.
