Why RGB LEDs sometimes don't work in solar lights.

This video was recorded quite late at night the evening before a heavy load-in of show lighting.  I'm trying to be quiet to avoid disturbing sleeping coworkers.

Why RGB LEDs sometimes don't work in solar lights.

Great timing for this video. I have a few solar lights that are old and tired. I was thinking about putting color changing leds in them. A good tip to have before I rework them. I just received some newer faster changing bulbs but haven't played with them yet. After I fix a few solar lights I'm planning on making a few color changing floaters for the pool. The pool store wants $20 a piece! I don't think so.

Thanks Fredrik 😊

The original manufacturer (www.shiningic.com) only lists a YX8018 and there's no trace of a B on the internet, so it may just be a manufacturing code.

Thank for the video, very informative and interesting to see how these work. Am wondering if there is any difference between the YX8018 and YX8018B, my solar light packed up and it had the "B" chip but I could only find the YX8018s

That was clear. I understood it! A tip worth remembering.
