Lidl's Livarno solar tape.

Just call me the "The Gloved Destroyer" since I'll be wearing gloves for a few videos to shield the squeamish from my heat induced skin issue.  (It's already healing up.)

This is a fairly neat little unit from a retailer called Lidl that uses various names around the world.  It's notable for the generous solar panel, albeit that it isn't the more rugged fibreglass PCB type.  The LEDs are in alternate polarity along the length, so the unit uses high speed polarity reversal for the effects.  This could have a positive effect for reducing the effects of electrolysis where water penetrates the tape.

Comments

I didn't notice a smell.

Big Clive

Does it have the horrible smell some of the water resistant coatings have?

It should actually be water resilient. I've noticed that a lot of waterproof LED tape is still prone to internal corrosion from moisture penetration.

Big Clive

I'll keep an eye out for that, but it will probably be gone before I can get to a Lidl.

Livarno/Lidl do a powerbank for £10, it's the best one I have found yet, it claims 10k mAh and I don't doubt it, charges my s9 twice with charge left over. It also has a 3 digit display for remaining charge %, USB, micro USB and C ports and it recharges and outputs at 3A. If you are still near a Lidl it's worth trying to find one, not for tearing down but for using.

Clive, is the led tape waterproof, bit of a festival junkie and i'd get a couple for over/around my tent.... and stop being embarrassed about what other people think of your hands, i know it's difficult but 'you have an illness', we need to stop hiding illnesses and bring them in to the light so they become more accepted..... we all love ye buddy regardless of your eczema

They ruined too many family get togethers so I unsubscribed.

I get the same skin condition, strong detergent seems to bring it on. Betamethasone works for me too, but I find the Dipropionate 0.05% gel to be more effective and less messy than the Valerate 0.1% ointment.

Should have gone with Poundlands latex gloves - way less scary, Thought those hands were going to come out of the screen and grab me lol.

The gloves are more creepy. Besides, you know there are channels dedication to popping back side zits and other things?

I feel for you, brother. I have the same issue with my feet. Hydrocortizone is a staple in my house. Get well soon!!!!
