Tattoo backstage edit to remove short music section.

The inclusion of audio from the track "The show must go on" caused a copyright issue, so here's the version that will be released to YouTube.  I'll also put up the musical section as a separate video.  It appears the copyright algorithm can detect a really extreme cover.

The sword I'm holding in this picture is our Knights of Illumination award that Gerry won for his lighting design on the show.  It's like a lighting industry Oscar.

we need to see inside one of those tubes ๐Ÿ’ก๐Ÿ”‹

I noticed that most of the pipers had hearing protection.

Iโ€™m getting the email notifications just fine.. Perhaps you have turned it off by mistake?

Annoyingly Patreon seems to have stopped sending alerts by email - anyone else had that happen and if so how to resolve?

Thanks for recording on the fly while working! It's interesting seeing what goes on back stage.

About the number guessing, I thought dancers were generally ordered by height so that there wouldn't be a big difference in height between two standing near each other. Might be able to use height to guess the number :)

Don't know how there could be copyright problems - I watched the tattoo on BBC last Sat night and they showed the whole performance of "The show must go on". And as Clive said in the first version of this vid, the tattoo officials want people to record and stream the performance. Bloody YouTube and its stupid algorithms :(

A teardown of one of the lighting wands would be cool.

All that noise and no hearing protection. Tinnitus and hearing loss are not to be ignored. I have tinnitus, it's bloody annoying

Clive, you should ask if at all possible whether the producers of the cover are fine with you using it in your video. If the copyright algorithm detected the song as the original and not a cover, you should be 100% eligible to appeal.

Terrum

The copyright algorithm that Youtube uses, can only be triggered by prerecorded music that is already in their content ID matching database. Which is a paid service, by the way. If WAS triggered that way, it would have been because of prerecorded content used in addition to the musicians playing. Bonus fact: Due to the way Youtubes content matching algorithm works. If you do a live recording of a band playing a Michael Jackson song exactly as it sounds in one of his albums, it would NOT trigger a content match. (And it wouldnโ€™t be a copyright infringement either, but they would most likely be legally compelled to pay royalties, especially if they used the original sheet music.)

Seriously giving you credit for multitasking on this video. All the running around making sure everything is good to go dealing with the crowds and the noise in making sure everything is tip top an doing a video and editing it all-in-one day. Someone give this man a pint! Cheers! Thanks Clive for all that you do.

So... the Tattoo is OK with people posting videos, but CopyrightInsanityTube flags it anyway? Dick The Butcher was right.

Please tell me you asked for permission to (and were allowed to) do a non-destructive teardown of one of those wireless lighting wands! (I know itโ€™s not likely, but I really want to see the inside of one of those things.)
