How a drinking lucky bird works.

I broke this thing completely.

But it was worth it.

Clive, IPA is expensive on IoM.. I bought 5 litres off eBay a few weeks ago, about £13 including shipping to Northern Ireland (aka Europe).. Getting things shipped here can be a pain as well. might be worth looking into...

The comments on flocking made me remember the term - I've been trying to figure out thin coatings for things like unglazed tile that are water-absorbent AND water-permeable AND soft (to the degree where there's no click of tile-on-tile or glass-on-tile or the like). The best I've found so far (not actually flocking) is stretching a specialized Tencel/Lyocel fiber that used to hold non-alcohol hand sanitizer across the surface to be quieted and made absorbent and securing with water-insolvent glue at a few points. It would be nicer to lie down a very thin coating that does a similar thing, with certain properties. I'll look further into permeable flocking, but do you know of any off the top of your head that will absorb *around* the point of contact of water as well as *into* the substrate? (And of course have a soft, flocked or rubberized feel to it.)\

I love these and I loved this video

They're not that deadly. The media whipped up the usual frenzy at some point. The worst they are likely to do if they break is stain a surface or damage anything plastic that they land on. In the UK you can buy metal gallon containers of the same solvent.

I've ordered one. Plus a solar prayer wheel too.

Your description made me smile :)

When I was a small child, I remember having those bubbly fairy lights for Christmas. If I remember correctly, the ones we had contained a very bad substance, and by the time I was about ten, Dad had tossed them. They can still be found in antique shoppes on the New England coast and I have resisted getting some, as they're "deadly".

I have one of these bird things on my shelf. My Son bought it for me a few years ago.

A quick tour of ebay brought up "Buddhist Pray Scripture Music Machine with 48 Kind Buddha Music Song NEW Outdoor", a solar-powered buddha song contraption available in pink. Almost so I suspect they've made it especially for your channel.

I've been resisting buying a buddha box for a while. I'm guessing the ones with 50 "songs" are very short droning loops. I may give in and buy one.

The history is even more interesting MOTORS https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drinking_bird#History My parents had one on the bar at a the pub they ran back in the 1960s that got me interested in engineering things. My father then made me an "bottle diver" out of an elastic band and a BIC biro cap and paperclip hook in an old style Schweppes soda water bottle the one with the hard rubber top that had a rubber seal, in those days the bottle thread was on the inside, twist it closed and the diver sank . Clive I found this image I picked the one you might like https://www.agbarr.co.uk/media/257549/Internal-screw-cap.png Later in the 1970 I was given a diver bottle that had claws that opened to pick up treasure and drop it in a central basket inside the bottle. Huge drinky bird fan here! I've given away about a dozen of them over the years. I also keep a small pile of "Buddha Boxes" on hand to give out. (Search "Buddhist Buddha Pray Music" on eBay.) As for refrigeration, I think of the refrigerant as a sponge and the compressor squeezes the heat out of it. Have a swell day y'all!
