It's good to have it back in action again.

Multimeter Repair Man! However can we thank you?

Michael Thompson

Absolutely!

YouTube has become the main hub of right to repair with its detailed repair guides.

Not yet. :(

I have one of these meters so I may reinforce the collar as a preventative measure. In fact, it sounds like a good use for my new 3D printer.

15:48 - Indeed, stay well away from EEVblog when researching a home/hobby meter. While looking to replace my multimeter meter (AC voltage kept reading half actual), I glanced over YouTube videos to see what various meters were like and didn't take long for me to stop clicking EEVblog videos! I ended up going for the UNI-T UT61E which I'm very happy with as I wanted 1mA resolution on the 10A scale. The EEVblog video made it look like this is a terrible meter that was going to cause me grief, quickly fail, etc. Totally difference experience in realty and am glad I watched a few other videos that demoed the features rather than just talk about that faults.

When your knob goes wonky you gotta fiddle with the shaft. No doubt about that.

I was just reading the BBC news this morning and there was an article about some people pushing for Right to Repair... and here you are repairing stuff! The article did also mention that appliances should be repaired by an authorised service professional though, and that annoys me when I can easily fix a toaster or something all by myself given the spare parts. Its great that Amecal supplied a new twisty contact thingy though.

Yes, that's all well and good but DID YOU FIND THE SPRING?!?

Solid rock is also a rather splendid track by Dire straits 😁

Solid rock is a very cool pub! I've been there several times when I was living in Glasgow, I miss it a little bit now... P.S. Glad to see the Amecal is back!
