Real shake light vs Nitecore Tube.

This video sounds a bit boomy because of where I filmed it, and I was trying to be quiet as it was late at night and my neighbours were probably in bed.  I can hear their voices, so I'm sure they can hear mine.

This is a real shake-style torch (probably not an original) with more realistic circuitry than the fake one had.

Real shake light vs Nitecore Tube.

Oh god. What a stupid thing. Mine has a tiny cap. That's all.

For a career masturbator, that shake-torch could be hacked into a cool training aid - add a bluetooth module and write an app (iJerk) that links to Apple's fitness tracker

Gordo

So you shook do that noisy thing that for two minutes straight and then started whispering? I am sure your neighbors are thinking something strange is going on.

Lostngone

The area under the black bit had a large recess that could have taken a rechargeable LIR2032. Not sure the best place to get a real Nitecore. Perhaps eBay with buyer protection if they send you a fake?

Big Clive

Yeah, they're really not waterproof. If you'd immediately rinsed it out with clean water and let it dry it might have come back. The high conductivity of salt water causes rapid electrolytic damage.

Big Clive

This was interesting. Compared to the hand cranked radio wth included light, I'm not sure whether it's useful.

Mark Bosse

What's funny is how similar the fake looks to the real deal.

Cave divers love the shake lights. You don't need much light when it's absolutely pitch black.

David E. Blankenship

My shake light has a coin sized cap so no black tape to hide the cap. Say what is a good place to get authentic Nightcore?

Aaron Nadler

I had no problems understanding him.

David Glover-Aoki

These gimmicky items are landfill fodder, junk straight from the factory floor.

The Tinkering Shed

Like wind-up radios, they are probably best suited to areas where there is a lack of other power sources, such as African villages and other remote areas.

Amos Bannister

I couldn't hear you at all, might be useful to do a bit of audio post-processing on this one.

Aaron the Tinkerer

The shake light is good for survival situations but I never really understood them. They seem to be a solution looking for a problem.

Mark Trombley

i dropped my nitecore torch into the sea and it stopped working immediately
