Generic industrial illuminated pushbutton.

I've looked at a few of the industrial panel components from eBay, but I don't think I've had a look at a combined illuminated push button.  It's quite a nice design.

It's probably fine for low current applications and prototyping, but not recommended for use in mission critical applications like high duty factory equipment.

We naughty boys did a prank at college and changed the legend to "SELF DESTRUCT" on one similar door release button... Our Physics tutor thought it was hillarious. "Happy" the caretaker freaked out.

Nuts 'n' Proud

I remember when I worked on panel stuff back in the late 70's they used 12V peanut bulbs for illumination that would last up to 6 weeks.

You never know when you're going to need one.

It's a bit specialised. The only common type available to mortals like us are the red/green two pin indicator LEDs. You can use two LEDs next to each other though.

oh there is too, love this video though. I was always curious about those buttons on children's rides when i was a kid they were so sturdy and now i see why.

Great stuff! I love seeing the Chinese versions of the real stuff I handle every day. Every once in a while a copy comes through and yeah they are fun to investigate and compare to their name-brand counterparts. :D

Michael Thompson

That’s the spirit!

I really wish I had a use for one of these but I don't. That said, I may get one anyway. 🙂

Chingineering being what it is, I'm surprised they even bother with discharge resistors.

is there a specific name for that style of LED package with the parallel LEDs arranged in opposing polarity?

Ruthsarian

I discovered that afterwards. It's a 1Mohm discharge resistor for the cap.

There was a dot. It's been there a while. Sort of disappeared now

ABS 3d pinted replacment switch should work.

Drachnien

Another Great video. Might I suggest that you draw a circle on your work table to indicate where the center of the camera is. This should help you to keep items "In Scene". That wasn't a problem in this video but just for future concern.

Hey buuuuudy. There's a resistor under that capacitor. (8:55)

Nice a video for at work!
