That's an odd failure. It sounds like the enable line for that part of the power supply has failed. Possibly even a solder bridge.

Clive, I have a 1KW computer PSU that has failed 12V rail (at least) has failed in a way that means its constantly live causing fans etc in any computer you put it in to be constantly running (using a known good PSU does not cause similar behaviour) would you want to look at it at all for a video? (I know I would want to see a teardown of a computer PSU by someone who knows their angry pixies) (posting this comment here because i have no idea how else i am supposed to ask)

Clive, do you ever stop being awesome? I played your succinct explanation of AF and Cardioversion from the live stream to my 12 year old son today and it's the first time he's really grasped what's been wrong with his step-mum all this time. Our own explanations must've been way off the mark! :-)

Did I start at 11.30? Darn. That's when I originally intended to start but then decided to leave it to midnight. I must have been a bit hyper and jumped the gun. But on a plus note the "1 hour" stream ended up as 2 hours.
