Then right at the end I spotted the secret feature that deals with the DC arc.

I did a Google search for magnetic arc quenching and found a video where magnets were pulling an arc towards them. I'm not seeing a polarity marking on the breaker.

2019-05-22 23:49:56 +0000 UTCI suspect it would be used in solar power systems and other things. If those are permanent magnets then the breaker would have to be polarized. They would only work correctly with one direction of current.
