Inside a 125A DC circuit breaker.

This started off looking like a very ordinary circuit breaker inside.

Then right at the end I spotted the secret feature that deals with the DC arc.

I did a Google search for magnetic arc quenching and found a video where magnets were pulling an arc towards them. I'm not seeing a polarity marking on the breaker.

I'm not sure I'd trust this with a submarine battery.

Back on the Isle of Man.

I suspect it would be used in solar power systems and other things. If those are permanent magnets then the breaker would have to be polarized. They would only work correctly with one direction of current.

Where would a 125A DC breaker be used? I'm an ex-submariner and our massive 125 x 2.2volt cell battery had nothing this small and modern.

You back home the noo? :)
