Bubble wand with interesting mech.

I got one of these bubble wands a while ago to see how their no-spill bubble generator worked.

It turns out to be quite an interesting mechanism compared to the usual rotating drum/disk of wands.

The slots in the cone seem to be for air ingress specifically to keep the bubbles from hitting the sides and building up. Think air hockey table. I imagine it keeps the bubbles from just oozing out instead of flying out.

Aww ... kitties :3

I tried searching for these or something similar on eBay and Aliexpress but didn't have any luck. Found only one listing that might have used to same mechanism but couldn't tell for certain.

"Bubblehead" sounds like a really poor insult.

I used to use a peristaltic pump to add liquid chlorine solution to my pool while the main circulation pump was running. Very robust kit but made a mess when the tube split! I use electrolysis now in a salt water (think same saltiness as tears) pool which is super nice.

Peristaltic pumps. That brings me back to Soutmead Hospital, 98-04. I worked in the renal transplant unit there, all the dialysis machines used peristaltic pumps to cirkulate the blood. I’ve still got one of the pump motors from the parts bin in the service department. :-)

It's a FOOL BRIDGE BUBBLEFIER !

I wasn't expecting to see a schematic of Hitler's genitals on the interweb today.

Children's bubble liquid has J-Lube in it. Well, that's enough internet for me today!

You can buy little peristaltic pumps on eBay. The professional ones tend to be quite expensive because they are aimed at accurate chemical dosing applications.

I am particularly interested in the peristaltic pump. Before I retired among other test equipment I maintained a NOx analyzer used in gas furnace design. Once I had to replace a peristaltic pump. My cost was $600.00. After watching this video I am pretty sure they could have made one cheaper.

Keep in mind that there's a hole in the base of the cone too.

Definitely need to hack it in some way to install the tubes into a larger container (or directly into a bottle of bubbles) and have it try blow the quickest or largest bubbles or such!

The three holes in the bubble cone bleed air into the cone to inflate the bubbles. Without them, the liquid would just run out of the end. The bypass air around the outside of the cone then carries the bubbles away.
