Live streamed build?
Added 2020-04-01 05:54:18 +0000 UTCFirst time I've tried a poll...
If I do a live streamed build - what should it be?

I shall try and find the bag of potentiometers.

2020-04-10 16:06:10 +0000 UTCI think second place still deserves a video

2020-04-10 11:09:09 +0000 UTCI would love to see the actual implementation of the voltage multiplier circuit, I still don’t really understand it.
2020-04-05 05:09:01 +0000 UTCI voted pussy.

2020-04-02 21:21:01 +0000 UTCIt went well enough to consider doing more.

2020-04-02 07:23:52 +0000 UTCMy email is huge at the moment. I'm working my way through it.

2020-04-02 07:23:14 +0000 UTCYou should have seen the options above with a tick box to their side.

2020-04-02 07:22:06 +0000 UTCI'm secretly glad it didn't, since I still have to find the potentiometers for the middle.

2020-04-02 07:16:04 +0000 UTCI vote for the dust collector plate. thanks.

2020-04-02 04:59:18 +0000 UTCDon't see how to vote.

2020-04-01 18:38:46 +0000 UTCWhy not a mystery Lithium cell disassembly? (Kidding... Mostly.)

2020-04-01 16:34:41 +0000 UTCWow! All so tempting. Like when walking into a branch of 'Maplins Electronics'. How my friend ever managed to work there without spending money faster than he earned it, left even him puzzled.

2020-04-01 14:39:02 +0000 UTCI voted USB light but now thinking air quality may be more timely. I have a furnace mounted Electro static air filter I would love to test. For the last few years I’ve only used it to hold a 4” hepa filter instead of the collector plates. With vertical charge wires in front of collection plates I’m sure it worked but was hard to tell whether the dirt was just mechanically separated or charged and attracted. I remember a video you did where you tested the ionizer but I can’t remember how. Spoof idea? Design a negative charged collection plate for cats! They used to say they were using cat fur to charge a wand in those science exhibition VanDeGraf experiments, why not give it a go and see if PETA will come after you.

2020-04-01 14:29:19 +0000 UTCI'll be doing the build while glancing at comments and picking some to talk about. Having not done a live build I'm not sure how it's going to turn out.

2020-04-01 14:07:19 +0000 UTCYou can buy USB powered UVC fridge sanitizers that could work for that application. Like a little metal wire lantern with a quartz U-tube inside it.
Big Clive
2020-04-01 14:05:37 +0000 UTCWould you not end up reading comments OR doing the build? +ve dust collection plate sounds like the highest potential (geddit?) for sparks and swearing, so gets my vote!

2020-04-01 10:52:25 +0000 UTCI'm seriously interested in being able to build a protection circuit similar to my nice power conditioner(Furman Power conditioner pst-8). But even if I can't build it cheaper than I can buy it. There's so much I don't understand about how it works. I'd be fascinated to learn more.
2020-04-01 10:16:40 +0000 UTCA simple resistor selector box for fine-tuning the mA's for a LED series, working with AA's, 18650's would not be a also a nice project. Option 2 is choosen by me :)

2020-04-01 10:02:21 +0000 UTCI liked the magic arm video , l have a similar device for a microphone which l then adapted for a Go Pro type camera but the Magic arm looks better for the job...now looking on ebay etc to buy one

2020-04-01 09:38:57 +0000 UTCThe dust collection plate is a clear winner for me :). Especially because I wanted to build it for quite some time, just haven't got to it yet. Nevertheless, another thought has been revolving in my mind lately: How difficult would it be to build a simple ozone generator? It would be neat for disinfection of goods you bring from a shop, received parcels, etc. My idea is just to put the generator together with the item to be disinfected in a plastic bag and let it run for a while. Of course, there are some health risks involved, but still it would be better than nothing when handled properly, under the current circumstances. Clive, does this sound reasonable & feasible for you? :)

2020-04-01 08:33:09 +0000 UTCMy old TV was great at collecting dust, but I am pleased the LED TV does not. Back in 1980s our powder coating booths had very large Cyclones for recycling the paint powder, they were very effective only a small amount was exhausted onto the roof. (power was a large 3ph motor) I wonder if something like a wire twist bottle brush with high voltage would it be a good collector, easy to clean is a positive and I guess it would be safe since you can touch the metal easily. 2020-04-01 08:29:58 +0000 UTCWell 'any of the above' but the Ioniser stuff has got my interest, & this is due to your videos on them! so thank you already :-)
2020-04-01 08:03:25 +0000 UTCAshes to ashes... dust to dust Clive.....@there you 'ave it Clive.
2020-04-01 07:11:29 +0000 UTCMy vote included the mains version, but having concerns about that with people getting injured. Maybe the USB one is the safest starting point.

2020-04-01 06:38:49 +0000 UTCI'm tempted to vote for the last one simply because I am intrigued.

2020-04-01 06:17:15 +0000 UTCCan we do them all over the next few weeks please Clive, All live tho?

2020-04-01 06:16:37 +0000 UTCCan the cyber pussy be USB powered? Could kill two birds with one video. Also have you considered putting the spare PCBs on eBay? I really want one for my shelf of things that glow
2020-04-01 06:11:05 +0000 UTCAnything you fancy so we can hear your smooth Scots voice, hilarious jokes and interesting anecdotes Clive!

2020-04-01 06:08:31 +0000 UTCClive you get my email about livestream?
2020-04-01 06:06:53 +0000 UTCWas very tempted with the cyber one. But I think the safe usb one is more likely to be built by me.
