2020-04-10 00:14:29 +0000 UTCIf they were both emitting at once I'd expect the ions to combine, but as it's done in alternate bursts into a high speed airflow, it will disperse alternate waves of positive and negative ions into the room. I think that's the theory anyway.

2020-04-10 00:10:03 +0000 UTCOn mine, when you change the cartridge you just reset it manually with a recessed button next to the speed control. It's probably down to contamination and gradual blunting of the ionisation pins. There's a sensor module above the emitter module in the airflow that seems to detect the air charge.

2020-04-09 23:52:40 +0000 UTCI have an older Sharp PlasmaCluster machine in the parts bin. On mine the ion generator is a replaceable cartridge as well. Sadly, mine's 'expired' and the unit will power up, run for a few minutes, then shut back down. Any idea why these parts are consumable and / or what goes bad on them? Alternately, any ideas on how to repair one to make it work again?
