eBay pink plastic fan heater. Good for parts/case.

Another PTC block based heater from eBay.  These seem to be very common now.

This one has a very convenient 500W heater block sized for a classic computer-style fan.

The case is actually quite robust and releases into six sections, one with a cable entry and switch and the front one with a robust grill.

So the 12 volt positive supply is live at 240 in reference to earth correct?

I reviewed the footage and it did stay on. I guess it hadn't quite got up to the first thermal trip temperature yet.

I think the heater may have been on, because you were saying it was getting hotter as you had your hand over the vent.

Sleep when you are tired, man. I remember doing projects where I didn't eat or sleep. It's fantastic actually until you get all queasy. LOL Easily fixed, then back at it. Nothing like it. Just...the task. Is that a Zen thing? That heater was interesting! Good stuff

Michael Thompson

No. I just stole that image off the listing.

Getting fancy with the screenshots I see.

I've used low voltage DC PTC heater elements in a few projects. they are available in a variety of physical sizes and power ratings on alibaba and aliexpress. Enclosed PTC heaters (no fins, isolated) are good for heating objects. Project on my bench now uses them to warm aluminum plates sandwiched between prismatic LiFePO4 cells to keep them above freezing or preheat before use. I've used the finned type to de-fog windows on construction vehicles when the engine was off or not yet warm.

That’s a great portable heater... better than li ion battery?

Interesting parallel arrangement for the PTC's

Sounds like it would be a good starter for a diy solder fume extractor
