One of the nicest lamps in a while.

Thus is a neat lamp.  Not just in its appearance, but also the circuitry.

I'm not sure if it's available in a 120V version.   Theoretically they could use the same high voltage filament (265V) with a voltage multiplier to drive it from 120V.  Or they could just use a different version of the filament with a different series/parallel arrangement of the LEDs to operate at a lower voltage.

The circuitry is super simple, and the design is optimised for ruggedness.

I was thinking pulling a vacuum on one side. However the wire would be simpler.

I also would like you to see taking things apart.

Please don't pause when you're trying to get into stuff with the risk of breaking it. It adds much to the channel (at least to me it does).

Thanks Clive. Hot air often helps when taking apart glued together things. Best wishes.

Now that is a great idea, The bigclives vice of knowledge.

Daddy, there's holes in the back of the pumpkin, too! That's ok, kiddo that's where the candle goes!

I love lamps. I don't care I just do. The wife and I made a run to the grocery store yesterday and I bought four regular Tungsten filament light bulbs for use in my workspace. Didn't care was still delighted to unbox them. The LED stuff is really fun because you get to play with power supplies too! I swear I'm going to create a "Vice of Knowledge" T-shirt. I love the satisfying CRACK of our brains getting fuller. Yes, this lamp seemed to be one pleasant surprise after another! I'm glad the glass didn't break as well. I'm certain you can mod that into something to great effect. The power supply is beautiful!

Nice design, very clever and simple. Another great vid Clive, thanks

Good video. Vision is fine but audio a bit boomy. Just a comment.

You did well to crack open the plastic case without damaging the glass! Great vid as per usual 😃

To fish the filament they might bend the tube with a thin wire inside and then use that to pull the filament through.

Thanks Boss.

It doesn't get too hot, so plastic should work.

That’s a really nice lamp Clive. I was concerned that it didn’t look very robust however, after seeing it being interrogated by a set of giant bear paws my fears have been allayed. I was just wondering, the spare filament you have, could you make your own shape with a small diameter plastic tube? Or would it need to be glass for heat resistance?

Good job. Even I understood it.
