POW!

Lookin' good.  I'm using a proper industrial grade Meanwell power supply, so I adjusted the voltage down to 11V to give the LEDs an easier life.  It's still very bright though.

Current draw at 11V is 3.2A

Now to decide what I'm going to do with the other ten control channels.

POW!

LED neon strip as featured in a recent video. A very linear strip that runs on 12V and can be cut roughly every 25mm/1".

Big Clive

What are you using for the LEDs?

Seat Warmer

I've only got two channels left at the moment. I'm wishing I had more for baubles now.

Big Clive

Ten more channels? Time to get your baubles out!

Phil Collins

That is beautiful

Demolished Man

Yes it will be using that controller.

Big Clive

Is this using the Dept of Villainy LED neon controller ? Looks great

Robert

Looks good.

No dangling balls?...... You could add a few and tie up some channels for effects.

Chris Muncy

Toying with that. Any offcuts can be used because it's the 12V stuff that can be cut every inch/25mm.

Big Clive

I like that, nice shape

Could steal that idea and get ten meshes and make a giant nixie tube.

Nani Isobel

Nice colors!

Nani Isobel

That is nice! Really smooth lines.

John Carr

Looks great. I think you should add "ornaments" made from the remains (assuming not all made it to the trash bin) of things you have taken to bits over the last year. Or perhaps adorned with various LED creations.

I love this time of the year because LEDs!!

maybe a "Holiday Inn" style of star... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X0rmGa3nSoE

Michael Thompson

How about animated face , warm white led pupils that look forward most of the time then up left and right at random, t shape board with 4 leds each, then the mouth can be green neon with three bottom lip movements to simulate talking, again random

Jamie

Pow is right! I can see it from my house.

Another Scrooge here. I would like to see dotted lines out of the obtuse (outer) angles of the star to show a "twinkle"; maybe two per angle. Could all be rigged to the same timing so I guess that is just using a single channel. After that, as others have said, a couple of baubles per "layer"; again, run off a few channels sharing. Maybe use the last channels to add a cutesy prancing deer :P

Love these live blogs.

Jeremy Impson

That looks great brother!

I'm with the others, use what's left to add decorations. I really like the tree, it came out great.

Chris Hegwood

Sparkle effect led tinsle. And flashing led resin baubles.

Looking good Clive

Rob Googe

'dancing Santa'

Steve Lemon

That looks purty, Clive. If you are looking for things to do on the other channels, what about twinkling LED clusters as ornaments?

Honorary Octopus

Put an array of LED's in a matrix display inside the lower section and animate christmas critters walking past the tree?

Nice... I'm quite the Scrooge but gotta say that is cool.

Howard Simons

My eyes burn in its glory.

K.o.R

looking good man!

Michael Thompson

Flashing "ornaments" for one control channel

Needs some LED baubles on it Clive.

Mike Wynne

baubles of different colours and mayb little presents with bows

Pow indeed

Niftiest. Now add bulbs, and presents :)
