Even just the star and fairy lights looks good.

I think I may end up spending a bit of extra time programming this thing with scenes.

When I was at school in the 70s, I used to build Christmas tree lighting controllers using a 7-segment counter/driver IC (4026 etc.), then later with 2708 EPROMS.. A friend and I are currently building spot-welders out of old microwave transformers and I just finished building the timer module with a 4-digit display and rotary encoder using Arduino Mini Pro modules - it's almost too easy.. Ah for the good old days...

That looks pretty damn amazing!!

It's the Department of Villainy controller. It was specifically built for this project.

What's the brain behind this creation? I may have missed it in one of the earlier posts. Great work by the way, I was thinking of doing a similar thing with the ubiquitous neopixels for my office door decorating contest.

Jonathan Cousineau

Thats freaking amazing, Clive.. Wish it was in a store so I could pick a couple up :D

Looks great!

There is a spare pin input pin, so it could have a dusk sensing function. With a bit of clever filtering and timing software it could also detect the length of the night and calculate an automatic turn off time so it didn't run all night. In this application it will be used during the day and turned off each night.

Christmas lighting was part of my career for over 20 years. Not quite as complicated as this panel though.

Big Clive

Awesome work Clive! Is there a spare pin to add an LDR or something? It could take a little less current in the dark...

That is awesome

Alas. Where this is going there can't be lasers or strobes. But the display can strobe if I write the code to make it.

Big Clive

I would place one like these instead of a real three.

Needs lasers! And strobes! 😆

Lostngone

One string. They are controlled, but only with one channel each for the blue and white.

Big Clive

The white lights look like snowflakes. Is that one huge string or can you animate them to make them look like they are falling? Very cool as it is.

George Cohn

Looking good. It's a shame that I just spent a minute trying to get the video to run ... Well it was 03.50

Neil Tonks

Oh wow! It gets better and better! Yet another career for you! (How many is that now, five?)
