Video link (Patreon glitch) Filming stuff in Glasgow.

I'm back in Glasgow at the moment, and thought I'd check out the Christmas lighting stuff in a big UK store called John Lewis.

Patreon seems to be having a moment with links, so you may have to follow this link directly.

They have some interesting stuff.

The glow in the dark powder works well in resin, but will only really be stimulated by blue LEDs. You can buy little keychain tubes filled with the powder as an alternative to tritium keyrings.

Well, I have enough LED strips in-house at the monent, butt.,,I have also a fair amount of "glow in the dark" powder lying around. I wonder, could I do something with this in combination with the huge amount of copper wire LED strings in-house? I'm serious looking for a purpose for the excess of this powdeer.

A badly timed test of a fine tipped marker pen.

Mikeselectricstuff has taken a few apart. They're cheap these days. Less than a grand for some.

The mind boggles - Big Clive working as a Christmas Light Advice Partner at John Lewis. Roll on the pink ones!

Seems like a new BC project: more interesting Christmas lights. How about white PCBs milled into snowflake shapes, joined in pairs at right angles. LEDs at the tip of each arm, soldered over the edge of the board. Custom software to gently glow or twinkle.

The neon strips at The Range in Paisley are the same with multiple colour changes along the same strip, much cheaper though at £29.99 each.

The Tinkering Shed

Lovely stuff!

If only you could get your hands on a public use defibrillator, it would make a very interesting tear down!

I like the strings with the big resin drops. They look like glowy berries.

What's with the "X" written on your left thumbnail? :D
