Electrocuting Xmas pies.

I was wondering how electrically conductive pies are.

The apple pie is the clear winner going by the smell in my house of burnt pie.

A Flambo pie?

So you are trying for the isle of Mann electrical version of the U.S. deep-frying Turkey? I wonder if I come up short on a resistor for a circuit, how big of a pie do I need to use as a replacement? Would the pie be considered a surface mount component when I design the circuit board?

now we know that 2xpi is not 7.28

I'd guess unity as the pies would have been a mainly resistive load.

Eat your heart out George Forman, Big Clives's Iron Maiden pie fryer is here! Spoof product infomercial just in time for boxing day.

What was the power factor?

I wish we could get stuff like that here in the US! Those look pretty tasty.

...and this is why I'm a Patreon of Big Clive.

Now santa is going to get a shock when he comes down the chimney when he finds a warm mince pie waiting for him 🤔😂

Graham Eida

That sounds like a good excuse for cooking two in series as a “safety precaution!” 😜

I haven’t watched this yet, but I’m hoping that at least one of those pies have been resistively “enhanced” to maximize the potential for a display of the patented “BigClive blowing shit up” experience!! MERRY🎄CHRISTMAS🎄EVERYONE!

worked great on our recently deceased pet goldfish Monty. Made a monty mental mess on our ceiling. So yes deceased gold fish conduct really well.

I'd be curious to see his goose get cooked.

You need to do eggs now. How you'll get two tiny holes in raw eggs without breaking them is another challenge in itself though.

A new segment...will it conduct! Clive - meat pies are surely next? I like the seasonal distraction. :-)

> I was wondering how electrically conductive pies are. Of course you were. What else would Big Clive wonder? Oh dear.

Haha love it , pie heater.

Gives a whole new meaning to fried pie. :)

Clive, you're bonkers! I have laughed so much, the missus' came down and told me to pack it in! Not only that - I'm craving mince pies now!.... How was the power factor? :-))

thanks for the festive chuckle! I too was expecting some more dramatics, but at least the apple pie was a little bit exciting. For the next Food-trocution, may I suggest jelly and moist fruits

Interesting result. I imagine that the current is somewhat proportional to the water content, and so the apple version is a bit more watery/jellylike. Could you (safely) run current through the pie tin to heat it? Probably a bit too explosive at 240V but it would definitely heat more evenly.

Oh there's your trouble, Clive. I was always under the impression that fruit pies require a currant meter.

Wondrously twisted! (hits play)

Just when I was wondering what audio book to listen to, I get this pop up!
