Like the safe one... But not safe.

Having looked at a safe version of this style of illuminated output smoke machine sold by a prominent UK supplier, I thought it would be good to look at a totally non compliant one sold from a Chinese warehouse in the UK.

It fully demonstrates the safety changes that were so important in the one from the high profile UK supplier.

Have you considered bypassing the thermal cutouts and showing us what happens?

Clive I'm confused now... When entertainers come on stage and do that thing where they tap the mic to check it, are they checking for audio output or to see if its live at mains voltage? 🀣

Ian Macphail

They couldn't really use a powercon in that task anyway as there is live on all three pins.

Big Clive

You could hard wire it. Any standard plug will have uses where having live power on all three pins would pose a hazard.

"Like the safe one, but more exciting."

Chris Crowther

They use XLR because powercon is too expensive (and they would probably fit blue anyway)

Chris Plater

I have just bought a Chinese bench power supply and tested it, lo and behold, the earth is not connected to the case, but is connected to the earth pin on the voltage/current Bind posts! Would never have even considered this before watching Big Clive videos! Top marks again!!

CE mark + Chinesium Export according to AvE !!

Google translate: Chinese 'safety' = English 'attrition'

As the insides were ok, could you swap the remote plug for something else?

Neil Tonks

would you do a video on the remote and receiver those chips are not hard to fined what i am wondering is would you do a video on how to use those remote chips

God 420

Yeah. That bong noise is really annoying. I'll guess it's the auto-gain stabilising in the phone. I may be trying external microphones again.

Big Clive

Mains plug has sleeved pins for once - that's about the only thing they got right with that cord! Anyone else notice the brief buzzing noise after each cut in the video, or is that just me? I've only noticed it on the last few videos. No big deal.

Hey Clive love your videos I’m 18 and you inspired me to go Into the field of computer science to make and learn more about how mini chipsets and misc items like them work! Hope you’ve had a great Christmas/New year -Nick from Pennsylvania
