eBay's crappiest USB rechargeable head torch.

So many to choose from, each with its own problems, but this one just simply fires most of the light well above your field of view.

Great case, decent 300mAh (first test) cell (which I accidentally damaged) and usable if not quite efficient wide angle COB array.  But then it just fails to light what you need to see.

Maybe I'm missing something.  Like it's designed for cyclists who want to just splash light high into the air for visibility or something.

I've enabled monetisation early on this video to see what it does with the word "crap" in the title.

I live in the U.S. The zombies don't stand a chance.

The lens presses fairly close to the COB so it would be easier to angle the whole light.,

Big Clive

At slow charge it clocked in at 500mAh. I'm feeling remorse at puncturing the cell now.

Big Clive

Just wait until there's zombies chasing you and you need to get the attention of a rescue helicopter at night.

I have a dewalt flashlight that blinks when the battery is dead. The white light will blink, but if turn it to the red light i get about an extra hour of run time...

Michael Gilchrest

Also, don’t the red leds have a lower forward voltage/current draw so they would stay running longer, even after the white leds don’t light?

Michael Gilchrest

you could 3d print an adapter.

Michael Gilchrest

On the bright side: for just a few dollars you have 1) a magnifying glass, 2) a cob led, 3) a 300 mAh LiPo cell, 4) a protected circuit to load your LiPo's. That's a bargain :)

Beside that this one has no angle, I like the spread out light more than the spot ones, as it stresses (for me) the eyes less.

Jörg Schötz

Not once in my life have I ever needed a strobe flashlight. I don't understand why every light includes that function.

Mark Trombley

So many uses, hiking up hill at night, or for working in all those places where you shouldn't look down. If you want to confuse people put it around your neck so all they see is glowing red beard floating towards them.

Jim

The dual white/red feature is handy. You could link 2 together and wear them around your waist when hiking/jogging, as front-white/back-red markers.

Wim

Might be useful for a mechanic working under a car and needing light pointing up a bit.

Since the cob sits on a ledge, could you build up the top of the ledge with Kapton tape until it pointed to a more useful direction?

Mike Bird

Maybe you could 3D print a wedge to fit between the torch and strap to angle it down.

Dave Davies

Keep in mind that it flashes both red and white, so couldn't be used for either front or back.

Big Clive

Could it be designed for UFO spotters?

I could see the flashing mode being useful as a rear light for a bike, although the light would need to be attached to the frame with a sturdy mount, not just a strap.
