I found ONE foam pump seller

Remember the automatic foaming soap dispenser?  I was so intrigued by the dedicated foam pump that I looked on eBay to see if I could find them as a bare component.

eBay came up trumps with a single seller.  They seem to mainly sell industrial components like motors, air pumps, timer modules and power supplies.

There's a link to the sellers listing in the YouTube video description.

Looks like this seller/item - https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/264812164691 Price has gone up slightly, but looks like they apply mounting foam and it's pre wired. Shame about the extortionate postage cost to Australia of $4.30 +GST however

I wonder if it would melt the plastic components?

Michael Thompson

Some people suggested a Foamy Whoofler MK2, but I wonder if it's possible to foam up a flammable liquid. With just air as the gaseous component.

MrTridac

I'm not sure how well it would foam milk. Cleaning would be an issue.

The current is about 150mA, so OK for brief bursts with solar charging.

Big Clive

That might work, but the air usually flows continually in them to allow the liquid throughput to be controlled, and also to clear all liquid after it's stopped pumping.

There are also foam producing devices in car jet washers (see Snow Foam).

Mike Hanley

I’m wondering, could you make whipped cream with it?

Hubert Hoefsloot

Innuendo overload! 🙂

Do I see a new version of the woofler in the making?

horrovac

Ooh ta for the link❤️

Cerity

Was about to say the same thing! As long as the pump won't ignite the butane!

Mike Hanley

I loved that teardown and explanation. The camera trick is great for showing the action really cool.

Michael Thompson

You know that pump is beddingntonp part of a Big Clive home brew haze machine. It combines the liquid and air pump in to one unit.

Can this kind of pump be used for foaming up milk? Just in theory.. i know it'd be a nightmare to clean and hence useless from a sanitary point of view.. 😊

Ahh thanks for that, I too was after a few for a (Melbourne) reopening party effect.

Anton

The only small pumps I ever used were centrifugal washing machine pumps which I used on a lathe to pump coolant. 12 Volt very useful.

This little pump is crying out to be installed in a Mk II foamy Wouffler!!

Thx for the excellent teardown BC 😁 you showed 4.5 to <1.0 volts. What’s the entire unit run on —3 x alkaline AAA ❓ that’s a very versatile pump, what’s the mA usage, and does it scale enough that you could theoretically have it recharged by a small solar panel

Fill a container with flammable gas attack the air intake to the chabler and foamy woofler mark 2

How about putting the pump so the output goes to the foamy whiffler. I wonder how that would affect the flame?

The high pressure fuel pump on a BMW N54 engine uses a similar pump configuration, oddly enough: https://www.flickr.com/photos/delsydsoftware/29595296005/in/album-72157664295748361/
