That was fun! Listened driving home then rejoined on my PC. Unfortunately I did not successfully flash the firmware I wanted to, but still enjoyed the chat.

Thanks for the tip on the capacitor inside the blinking LED when its cold. I'll give that a go soon.

Mark Hazlewood

Ahh that seems like an important part... but then how is one much louder than another 👍

Cerity

What kind for detecting Radium in Gin?

Mike Hanley

Perfect. I'm off work Friday so I can stay for the whole "event" this time.

Zeedijk Mike

Let the wife know that I'm joining the stream this evening. Im going to try and double up by also flashing new firmware onto a very interesting (to me) little portable shortwave to 2ghz Software Defined Radio (SDR). Best of luck to us all! ;)

Michael Thompson

Clive, if your developing a prototype PCB and you spot an error in the first batch, once you've fixed it in the later ones do you throw away the original one with the error or hold onto them in case they 'come in handy'? I think I know your answer :)

Mike Hanley

It's partly gamma, so any common eBay geiger counter should detect it.

Big Clive

Question for discussion: any suggest Geiger counters for detecting radium in old watches?

I've toyed with adding a diode or resistor in series to tame it down slightly. It's purpose is to cool the filament as it gets extruded onto the object, so I've kept it at full speed.

Big Clive

We’re all stars now in the dope show (marilyn manson) what happens when both sides are crazy enough to want to kill those that disagree with them ☢️

Cerity

Can you add one of those variable fan dimmers on the Cetus?

Cerity

The horror fantasy ‘the purge’ was mentioned... USA may well be on the way to ‘do whatever you want and ignore laws and see who stops you’ Your PM johnson didn’t embrace COVID-19 rules but at least acknowledged its severity once infected.☣️

Cerity

I'll assume that the explosion containment pie dish (ECPD) will be to hand for this one 🧫🧯

Phil in the kitchen

Another complaint seemed to be that the unit is noisy. It does have fans for the head and filament cooling, that do make a bit of fan-noise. But it's MUCH quieter than my Cetus 2 that has a small fan running at full tilt at all times it's powered.

Big Clive

I like fireworks but as get older having them go off 2 weeks before and after starts to drag a bit. Dog hates them. Thank god at 16 he's as deaf as a post

Neil Tonks

Look forward to it Clive. I usually watch the streams most evenings over a week, but I’ll try and catch this one live. Be a welcome break from the Trump and Biden show....

thanx Clive this was the review that started me wondering https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VXBr3MTs50c&t=1319s

So far I've had no problems. I've noticed that for some 3D printing is an obsession. One reviewer was being overly picky, including criticising the software for pausing mid print when the touchscreen was being used. I've not had that issue, mainly because there's no obvious reason to use the screen while printing other than to pause or stop the print. If the mechanisms do have issues, just about everything seems to be standard components.

Big Clive

This will be great fun. Always enjoy the Patreon streams.

l heard you mention the in the livestream you had bought a new 3D printer you have namely a FL Sun Q5 . l went on a search on Youtube and noticed a few reviews , a couple of them were positive but one reviewer liked the printer and then did a teardown , and was impressed by the the quality ,,,,,HOWEVER after a few weeks he posted another review as he had to replace most of the gubbins ,,,,stepper motor ,main board ,2 fans , at that point l thought of your purchase.......Are you having any problems , do you intend doing a teardown , how do you rate the printer , l have seen it for 179 quid from a UK seller and looking at the reviews thought you giving advice and a review would be a better guide for me........

I too now have more remotes left than bulbs. Can't wait for Clive's playtime. ;)

Andrew Donaldson

Guy Fawkes Day! Yes, I read of the Prime Minister's lockdown from now until...December 2 or 3. My understanding is this implementation has no bearing on Northern Ireland, Scotland, IOM, etc... If all goes terribly wrong, more than it has already, we in the states could be in the midst of a little Civil dispute. Perhaps we'll have our own day for remembrance on the 5th.

I have a small stack of those remotes because of following Clive and wanting to play too. No regrets. Our home shows Clive's influences in the best ways... but I still like the Goslings Ginger Beer better at the moment. ;)

Michael Thompson

From the picture I'd guess that Clive has also been buying colour changing LED bulbs. Which also go fizz and bang like a firework when they fail! EXCELLENT!

Andrew Donaldson

I hope I can make it. I enjoy hanging

Michael Thompson

In hindsight this is on the 5th November (firework night for the UK) but I get the feeling that will have been affected by the lockdowns.

Big Clive

Nice one sir.
