Teardown of a big (faulty) ozone generator

This unit is very powerful, but also potentially a shock, fire and RF jamming risk.

It is probably best used in a grounded metal case with a fan to stir the air and cool it.  But it is really just suited to fairly extreme ozone applications.

Saw the water to sanitizer sprayer you took apart in an ad yesterday... won’t say what they were telling you to pay for it☢️🙈 but it appears the demand is growing ❤️

thanx Big Clive after our conversations about my own so called non ozone /ioniser ..........l will be taking your advice about possible actions...

"Is this a good idea? No. Am I going to do it anyways? Yes." And that's why I keep on watchin'. :) Major the Cat, in my avatar photo, is watching with me and meows his approval / agreement.

The catering ones don't do the shock-treatment levels. Just an enhanced level that is low risk to general materials. The catering environments tend to be made of fairly resilient materials like stainless steel, glass and silicone rubber, which are resistant to ozone.

Probably a tiny quantity, but mainly ozone.

I've purchased a unit off of Amazon after a friend left his stove on medium with spaghetti in the pan and walked the dog for an hour. House filled with burnt food smoke. I'm unsure of the qty of ozone generated claim, but yes it definitely works. I'm curious if it just one of these "cores" with it mounted in a chassis plus a timer. 12hrs of generation in the house destroyed a great amount of the odor (nobody home during this). Any more time than 12 hours and I would start to worry about corrosion of objects due to ozone. A common watch point is rubber seals on windows and doors quickly deteriorating from Ozone generation. Caught your mention of commercial buildings using increased Ozone through hvac overnight to sterilize while nobody is in the store on the HVAC Overtime channel. I am curious what impact this has to objects within the building or if things are built with this in mind. Extended exposure seems like a risk to any exposed surfaces really, but especially rubber\vinyl items. https://www.amazon.com/Enerzen-Commercial-Industrial-Deodorizer-Sterilizer/dp/B00JAP7388/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=ozone+generator&qid=1605626895&sr=8-3

Is it generating UV as well as RF and ozone?

Wim

Looks like they wood screws to :)
