Teardown of a Japanese brand vape device.

Lets see if YouTube demonetise this one.  Previous vape device teardowns have been put on restricted advertising because of their subject material, even though they were technical videos.

I've laid off the trigger keywords in the description and tags, and did my best not to say keywords in the video, but did at least twice.  Notably when I said "nicotine" and then said it again when I realised I had said it.

I may play the system a bit by making the description and title blunter after the video has had its initial peak of enthusiasm.

Teardown of a Japanese brand vape device.

Comments

Saw it appear on the "regular" YT feed now: "Japanese fog-stick teardown" Fog Stick, LMAO...

Anton

Very much so

AESFTW

If it's a Japanese product then the microcontroller could be a renesas RL78/G10

The similarities to the US Vuse Alto are uncanny.

Adam Christensen

Both sides, the charging side and the pod side.

AESFTW

Don’t have 1, but that’s what he mentioned. Is it magnetic both sides? Or just the charger side

Cerity

WD 40 technically not a penetrant. Heat would normally be the go to. Except... so I’d try freezing, and maybe penetrating oil❓

Cerity

God yeah, opening the engine on my old mini back in the day and comparing it to one of todays minis and they are worlds apart! Great tip for reducing the size of soldering tips...I love my trusted old soldering Iron but the tip is getting tiny after all these years and the screw holding it in has long rusted and smoothed off over the years. I have tried soaking it in WD40 but it won't budge.

That struck a cord ;-) for me back in 1999 The only tiny thing I had a go at was a Palm Pilot that only worked when you twisted the case. Funny internals multi folded PCB film. Found the dry joint on a chip using a tooth pick. I twisted a thin copper wire around the tip of my 15w soldering iron to make a smaller tip. Yep it worked, I don't think I can do it now my hands are not steady and my eyes are not that good even with magnification. Thanks for the memory. I used to fix my own car but now under the bonnet I am not keen, the last thing I did was fix the electric power steering on a Meriva - I was not technical, just unplugged everything and a bit of spray; must have been dampness. Can you put the battery test results in the description?

Jeremy Impson

Yeah. I can give the videos their real titles and descriptions here.

Big Clive

Not to bother was a cheap o one of Ebay 8 quid there abouts . Got the new one in the post today so all good :)

Mort

call it a "pump-less fog machine" 😂 edit: oh you pretty much did, you used different titles here and on youtube. fair enough.

Think I'll give it a try, thanks

The Tinkering Shed

Don't worry. I've fried meters too. It's part of the experience.

Big Clive

Yeah, but both get your video demonetised.

Big Clive

Bit of both, I had it when I was young then it went away, came back in adulthood, mostly allergy triggered. It's been reaaly bad since I had Covid

The Tinkering Shed

In many ways a vape is similar to an asthma inhaler. Maybe a low level nicotine free menthol one would help, but I'd suggest a very short burst to test it first.

Big Clive

Have you always had asthma or has it evolved over time? The only time I experienced asthma type effects was when I was under continuous subliminal stress.

Big Clive

I used to love taking things apart and replacing burnt out components on faulty circuit boards, until they miniaturized everything!

Very nice engineering. I have asthma which is getting worse, I had wondered if using a neutral vape (your N free blend) would be of benefit, I wonder if the vapour would help eliminate allergens from the lungs and help the lungs natural processes of flushing and expelling particulates. Working in construction and FM I spend a lot of time in dusty places. Anyone have any experience of this (pros or cons)?

The Tinkering Shed

I find it amazing that YT/Google can demonetise videos with (in their opinion) illegal words within hours but photos of child porno can hang around for ages before removing them. I wander where their priorities are.

Zeedijk Mike

Similar to the Vuse Alto. USA version.

AESFTW

well one good thing got a spare fuse and battery for the new one :) and spare leads to which i mite modifier but sum clips or sum things els i have to have a think on that one :)

Mort

Great design

Many of us have had the same thing happen. Celebrate its life with the purchase of its replacement!

Michael Thompson

it amazes me how they can fit all that stuff in a small place . like the video by the way and enjoy seeing the other videos to thanks and keep up the good work :) all so on a side note i just fry my first multimeter prod it sum were i should have not they was a sizzle and no more meter LOL good job was a cheep one of E bay got another one coming in the post :D

Mort

You know it finally makes sense why some videos are titled things like "You'll never guess what THIS is" - I thought it was just clickbait but apparently it's also a great way of avoiding demonetisation!

Berkeloid

Curious if YouTube scans the automatic dialogue transcription for keywords to auto flag too. I mean they’d be crazy not to, but perhaps changing the selected language for the source clip would throw it off.

The Griffiths Family

Amazing amount of engineering involved, just to produce an alternative to a cigarette. Impressive.

Mike Hughes

Got to watch that N Word Jim. Great video 😁

William Nimmo

Also this logic brand from Japan appears to be behind a similar brand in US, since the companies market relentlessly, some of the corner stores sell ‘aldo’ also similar to ‘vuse’

Cerity

With Big Clive, the "N" word means something different xD

Kevin Bornewasser

Break it down clive 👍 btw friend said you had a very gorgeous beard, so why’d you shave it after seeing your funnel goatee method.😂 said to look at the avatar. Love from the on fire usa south west
