USB powered light string PIR/radar adaptors.

I've had a small batch of these made.  If you want one of the PCBs to play with then let me know and I'll send at least 20 out to randomly chosen Patreons.

I'll probably pre-solder the USB socket on and include the little 3-way socket too.

USB powered light string PIR/radar adaptors.

If you search for Arduino PIR module or radar module on eBay you will find the ones I used.

Big Clive

What PIR and doppler sensor was used ?

My version of the PCB in EASYEDA flavour, tweeked to give 25 for your $2 from JLCPCB :) https://easyeda.com/steverddrf/pir-adaptor

Oh man I received a 10-pack of those PIR modules I'm going to breadboard or point to point some adapters These things are cool!

Michael Thompson

It would be awesome if you have some of those left to send to america.

AJTech369

PIR modules ordered!

Michael Thompson

I wonder how many people will bin them because of that. Some hot air may aid removal of the stickers cleanly.

Big Clive

Insanely cool! I know just where I can use this!

Michael Thompson

I know that feeling- when they turn out like crap, even though you followed the procedure !!

Mike Hughes

Yes I will.

Big Clive

Would be great to have one. Will you be putting the gerber files up?

Richard Robinson

I would love a couple of these. I'm currently making some PIR controlled solar powered LEDs for my mum's shed. Your PCBs are much neater than my prototype board crap.

Hi, yes please. :)

Broxie

I have tried unsuccessfully, 3 times to use the photoresist film on this project from the .lay files, but cant get the printer to do the job well.

Mike Hughes

This is a really useful little circuit, will you put the gerber files up on your web page please as i can see this having many uses for me in the near future- especially when i get my new Shed come workshop to aid my installation of a security system. thanks. Mike H.

Mike Hughes

I'd love one to play around with

Would love to make one of these if not too late!

I'm using a lot of the microwave detectors and they usually come from DX with a QC sticker at the antenna. It's so sad that the sticker is metalized paper and ruin the sensitivity. Quality control at it's best? 🤔

Tor Sjøwall

A little late to the party but I would love one too.

Would like quite much --thank you!

I would like one of those

Would love one

Hmmm ive always wanted to toy with p.i.r's this has only fed my want, id love one if possible. Thanks

These are the perfect little solution for “automating” some accent lights around the house. Fairy lights provide enough light in the middle of the night to light the way. Would love to build one of these.

I've built a number of your PIR based circuits for friends and family as a simple bathroom nightlight. I put one of the wireless sensors into a Poundland kids toy that lit up with a multi-colour LED. Also managed to hack in a rechargable USB power supply (Poundland again) instead of the 3x AAA batteries. A nice little circuit board for future projects would be great! Please put me into the draw.

AlfaGuy

The problem with mini USB connectors is the number of different PCB footprints different ones have :( Hopefully the 2 pin version is only made in one version.

This would be wasted on me but I am looking to make my kids night light plug into an old phone charger. (4.5v 3aa battery pack)

Olly Whitton

Yes Please! This would be perfect for a project I'm working on now!

I'd love one if you still have some to give out.

Adam Wesley-August

Yes please to one of these, I've got all the bits I need here, and was actually going to make something simmilar as a nightlight for in the house so this would save me a bit of faffing round :)

Yes please!

Daniel Cosby

Yes please!

Trond Smevik

That is extremely cool. Nice application!

Michael Thompson

This radar/PIR sensor really intrigues me - the hallway of our past rental apartment had such a lamp. Would like to get one to play with it!

Hagen

To get one would be great

A very useful, simple project. Nice one Clive

Yes please, a while back I got the PIR module you examined a few months ago. I hope to make something for September when I visit my dad in Canada. I have done a few LED bits and bobs for him they help him when he gets a bit anxious he is 85y and still doing DIY.

John Harrison

Just getting back into electronics but I'd love to give one a go

Would love to get one Clive! You inspired me to get some PCB's made and I'm now sitting here surrounded by several Gallium boards flashing away!

Sure, I'd put one together, but usually build that sort of stuff from scratch.

Bill Kerr

Would love to get hold of one of these please Clive, I've got quite a lot of the PIR modules around as I use them for my home automation system, but one of these boards would be great for use on lights when camping - in a nice box of course.

Would love one of thes board also. I got a couple of those radar modules already. Would be a nice project for my learning curve.

Hub Rijcks

My partner loves these USB fairy lights, Id be up for a PCB so can you put my name in the hat too?

I'd love one of these boards. I've been meaning to do something with the radar module I bought a while back, but never got around to working out how to use it to drive the lights.

Alister Perrott

A quick additional comment. I have a wall hanging water feature that I'd like to trigger on movement rather than being plugged into the mains all the time. Currently it has tiny USB pump and a solar panel. I tried a PIR but with a lot of mist it wasn't waterproof enough but a Doppler sensor can be much more sealed. Clearly the current transistor won't drive a motor but is the best bet an uprated circuit or just drive a micro relay with this one and a protective diode?

Charleso

I would love to make up one of these circuits to put some lights around my garden. We have lots of cats visiting and they would be ideal triggers for the pir or doppler (I have both bought from ebay pre price hike pandemic era) Wife loves her picture frame of slow colour changing led's- just waiting on more resistors from Gadgets Kingdom 500 x 220 ohm and 500 x75 ohm for ultra bright uv leds.

Mike Hughes

I think 60/40 is 330 C

Cerity

Would love to play with one of these - add it to my increasing collection of Clive inspired LED projects.

I’ve got a perfect application for one of these PCB’s, so please count me in the draw Clive.

It's the coolest thing, to be a patreon of Big Clive!!! Thank you Clive

I'd like to have one Clive. My city is back in lockdown again, so looking for new projects to keep me occupied and have a bit of fun with.

I would like the fourth person after me to get one please.

Jim

Can you include me in the random draw please? That would be ideal for making a small night time light for the bathroom (with an IR and photocell). It would stop the mrs and junior leaving the bathroom light on all night! (They seemingly forget that light switches work both ways!)

Ross Robertson

I didn't find a link to the knife?

Paul Malloy

I would love one to play with.

mickey gauld

throw my hat in the ring for one of these, This has given me an idea for some band merch , i want to test it forst

Can we buy one?

I you put the black connector on the other side of the pcb the the packet wit the doppler become a very small unit no?

They are awesome. I'd love to try out out.

Sean Yem

Cool! And just as I start planning a device to trigger lights on the stairs for when folks have to go downstairs in the wee hours of the morning too!. Please add me to the drawing as well.

Id enjoy one, but don't want you spending a bunch of money shipping one to the US.

Elliott Krimchansky

Great little project board, please add me to the draw.

I'll second that.

Rocco Rizzo

Nice board. I can think of hundreds of uses for it.

Rocco Rizzo

I'd be interested in trying one of these to turn my desk lighting on/off automatically. No pre-soldering needed.

Please can i be entered

Please add me to the drawing! Neat little board. Would be handy

Davin Desborough

I would love one would be fun playing with it

I would love to try one of these out

Tim Toone

Me toooooo :D

John Carr

Please would you put my name in the hat for one of these PCBs?

I'd like to be added please.

BCDC, Best Wishes. Please add me to draw of that fine looking project.

I love these please add me

Ryan G.

That's a neat board! Please add my name to the draw :)

I'd like please :-)

add me to the draw please BCDC

John Catterall

Well after being lucky enough to get the last one I won't throw my hat in. What I will ask if they are going to be available either to buy from you or the file to have them made myself.

Neil Tonks

I've wanted this eggzact thing for years. but I can't soldier cause of shaking. So don't worry too much thanks for offering. you did offer right?

YouKnowHowYouAre

That's a neat project, may I add my name to the tombola?

Charleso

may I join those who want to receive such a board to play with ...

Peter Stimpel

I wonder if he realises that a commercial air freshener activator would cost a lot less than a car lock actuator.

Big Clive

Put me down for the random draw! thanks

Coil B

Would be nice to try out one of them. Would make a perfect addon for my daughters LED lightchain.

Because Why-Nerd

I'd like one

I loved to get my hands on one to have a little play with :D

i would love to have one of this:-)

Yup - Please add me to the draw. And thanks..

To own a circuit board on which the hand of Big Clive has administered solder would be an honour beyond compare! Count me in to your random allocation Clive! Thanks for the frisson of anticipation.

I'd love one if you fancy shipping to Yorkshire :-)

Robert

I'd be really interested in one :)

Fabian Schillig

I don't need the project parts - I've been working on something sorta similar here in Minnesota for the last year. I might reuse your design, though... :-)

Ryan Coleman

Looks really handy as a nightlight, would love to receive one if i am chosen.

I'd be interested in being in the drawing too.

I'd love to have one to have a mess around with

James Tattersall

I'd love to be in the drawing too!

Kevin Hardisty

Hey yes clive id love to have one to play with it

I would like to be included in the draw, if it's not too late. :-)

I would definitely love one of these if possible. I have one of the PIR sensor modules already which is handy.

Add me to the random list, but since I'm in the USA, I'm happy to pay for shipping.

Witold Witkowski

I would like to have one please if you have any available.

Put my name in the hat too please, looks a fun project.

Cool, I’m interested. Also willing to pay for a (partial) kit.

Paul Schuur

Put my name in the pot for the drawing. Is it better to test the capacity of 18650 charging or discharging? P.S. I did receive the board you sent. Thank You! Showed my better 3/4 and it's going to end up in the Livingroom when it's done.Had the ceiling in my living room collapsed, had to remove everything in it so I can't get in the garage and still waiting for my flashing blue LEDs to arrive.

Cleveland Prescott

If there's any left I'd also like to be considered for one please.

Rich Nixon

Very tidy circuit boards Clive I would love a couple of those

Yes please clive I would love to make one, also found this on thingiverse https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3603230

Jono Harley

Bonjour, and yes, I would gladly accept one of these!

Ozone S.

This is a project within my skill range. Very cool.

Oh, yes please Clive. Need a nice project to test my ts100 that is on the way.

David Jackson

Thank you for the offer

Hopefully, I'm not too ham fisted !

Yes, please!

Derek Smith

It would be interesting to switch on my ambient ceiling fairy lights in the hall. Please consider me for one. Thanks.

Sure, that would be great thanks

Rob Bruno

Yes please, I’d love to have one of those! (He humbly screamed at the venerable Sir BigClive.) Having run myself run out of anything to repair or cobble together ages ago, is making me go bonkers!! 🤗

Bo Holbo Rasmussen

Please and thank you!

Matthew Dickey

Hi Clive yeah I’d be interested in one please cheers Steve

Steve Nuttall
