Not a video (yet). Really hard encapsulation.

The picture is of a tiny circuit board that fits on the end of a lithium cell in a high profile Jugee rechargeable AA cell that puts out a solid 1.5V for most of the discharge and then 1V to signal that its running low and is about to cut off.

This was supposed to be last nights video, but has been very frustrating due to a very hard glass-like resin that won't dissolve in acetone and seems quite heat resistant too.

I'll keep working on it, but tonight's video will be about an ozone generating pink ring instead.

I've been looking for lipo AAs. Banggood bailed on my order of jugees and the other brands on eBay and Amazon look sketchy. My son has numerous battery operated thingamabobs and some really don't like the low power of NiMH .

Have you tries good old fashioned Petrol (Gasoline for our American friends) ?? that seems to work when all else fails- but do it outside just in case it goes terribly nuclear!

Mike Hughes

Really looking forward to seeing this one ...

I'm very interested, as I bought some of these batteries, AA & AAA. Jugee and Palo are Lithium Polymer, I have bought both brands. The have their own USB charger. The Jugee charger will charge the Palo batteries and vice versa. They charge the batteries from the normal terminals. I also have Kentli Lithium Ion batteries, these have a special charger that charges from a different point on the top of the battery, not on the normal terminal connection, which is used for output only. I'm very happy with the performance of these batteries.

Drop it in the Hot Dogger!

Or Methylene Chloride/Dichloro Methane.

Try dissolving the resin with methyl ethyl ketone., it's a bit more aggressive at dissolving polymers than acetone.

It puts out a solid 1.5V and in test was around 2500mAh. Possibly nudging 3000mAh, but my test rig would have dropped the discharge current when the voltage cut down to 1V.

These ones charge via their normal connections.

OOH! do these work well? I love Eneloop style low self-discharge cells *BUT* so many electronics cheap out and don't have a boost converter so it's hard to use the 1.2v cells in them.

"PINK RING?" Now why does that not surprise me? How do you manage to make electronics smutty? 😜

good luck, brute force rules

I am interested in the new tech of these micro usb charging batteries, will be good to see when you eventually breakthrough :-)

I see you've now taken that gag and run with it. πŸ‘πŸ»

"Pink ring" 😁

Hit it with a hammer!
