The video of yesterday's spoiler

I've probably ruined the video by excitedly sharing the circuitry with you yesterday.

But it's still a very interesting device.  I've just ordered a 110V one to take apart to see how the circuitry differs.

I really enjoyed this one and I hope it encourages more folks to build high voltage stuff from incorrectly rated components? ... But only for fun or educational purposes.

The little pop up ads have always been enabled. I try to keep that area of the screen clear. At the beginning that was the only type of advert that I allowed.

In this case it would require a longer multiplier or different circuitry. I've ordered a 110V one.

With such a low current it could possibly be tapped across the door switch for the light so it ran in series with the lamp when the door was closed. Or just hooked to the lighting circuit feed.

If that is designed to go inside a fridge, where does it get power? I did pick up a couple of the 110v ones to play with.

If you recreate the effect with discreet components it would be fun to build a few of these. It would be extra great if the design fit on those little $2 JLPCB boards.

Just before you stated, that you may build one yourself with through hole components, I pondered on the viability myself of building a large one with equal stages of 22 or more on both sides.( I have a 28 stage -ve one with 220nf 630v caps in a 55mm waste pipe) What are your thoughts on this idea? (also, I use a neon bulb to check if there is any ion discharge, just hold one leg and bring the other close to the emitter and it will glow.)

Don’t the 110/220 designs normally have a track that turns the 220 into a half parallel arrangement ❓

BTW I just encountered yet another ad on YT - see https://ibb.co/GxmcrLj - this was parricularly annoying because it seemed at first to be part of the board componentry and I don't know how long it had been influencing me before I realised what it was. Also of course it doesn't interrupt your video so may not show up as an ad in that sense.

I disagree - it was nice to be pre-informed as you set about mauling it.
