I'd happily eat moon algae for sustenance.

Big Clive

I don't know if it really fits here but it could be an interesting topic for discussion. I was watching "Chris Delay's FAIL Masterclass - Episode 1" from Introversion Software (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rzL1Mh6s2W4) and they were discussing a game they made about Moon Colonisation that was more-or-less factually based. They said that the only food you'd be able to grow on the moon to start with was Protein-Rich Algae and the ideal early moon colonist would be one of the few people for whom food is just fuel and I though that Big Clive would be the ideal early moon colonist. A great electrical/mechanical engineer who would be fine eating moon algae for sustenance :p

Simon Pain

I'd have to dig deep to find my bills and add that up. It's purely electricity costs.

Big Clive

Ooh! Whatcha got? For the purpose of the video it was just going to be an internal exploration and maybe hotwiring it to see if it enters a menu or is just a dumb serial terminal.

Big Clive

Just the phase monitoring section under that cover indicates that the person who designed the PCB may not have worked in the field.

Big Clive

Question for the stream. Because you practically don't use heating and are very energy aware. What do you pay for energy annually? For contrast, I paid €1100,- for a 60m2 apartment last year. With 20.5 C heating in outside of summer. That's both gas and electricity.

Clive if you need something with which to test your new Otis service tool let me know

Thats a PCB from an IMEM GLE lift controller, their reputation for reliability leaves a lot to be desired.

I know an elevator service boffin and yeah it's certainly not an industry for dumb asses to play around with.

not clear if I can make it yet

Michael Thompson

That PCB is from an industry noted for lots of live metalwork and literally tearing people apart.

Big Clive

The PCB is an elevator controller, so it makes sense to divide the controlled circuits amongst several circuits. Those optoisolators may be partly to detect fuse failure.

Big Clive

That's a lot of fuses!

And from the looks of it technical things with a helectric shock potential. The best kind

Im no expert. But I have this feeling...it's about technical stuff. I have a sense about these things. It's a gift. Fingers crossed.
