Getting any contact cleaner spray is difficult due to shipping restrictions on pressurised cans and flammable liquids.

Big Clive

I've not tried octoprint yet.

At the moment the FLsun Q5 seems pretty good.

Big Clive

Wind would be an issue on most days.

Add some flux and/or fresh solder. If possible cut leads and remove one at a time. If trying to clear solder out a thin hole then either desoldering pump or pointy wooden toothpick.

Big Clive

In things like lava lamps where heat is needed. My base alcohol would be generic vodka as it is just plain ethanol and water. Not much choice on an island. Co-op or Shoprite. Never been to Finland.

Some quite random questions that popped to my mind: - Do you still use traditional light bulbs in some applications? If so, in what and why? - If you could only drink one type of alcohol or alcohol brand for the rest of your life, what would it be? - What is your go-to chain for groceries? - Have you ever been to Finland?

What's the best way to remove components from a board? I keep accidently burning track pads or not getting all the solder off. The whicking wire doesn't seem to help.

Is it possible to eventually set up the livestream outdoors so we can have 100mm whoofler fun?

I have done the deed woken up in hospital then held in police cell as no space in secure hospital and then had to sit in front of five doctors before being released. My CPN was very helpful during the months of recovery. It was a very interesting that Clive brought up the subject. I have known three people who completed and one other who jumped off a bridge into traffic with life changing injuries

Which 3D printer do you suggest? You should create a video?

Interesting as see regularly twin 3hp 2.2kw compressors connected with13A BS1363 plugs. With a total of 4.4kW measured 20A. With customers wondering why the new fuse keeps blowing the hint of the socket going black being lost on them.

It looks like a bird of some sort you can make out the yellow beak if you look close

I thought that was a giant mutant hedgehog in a cage.

Whippet Gas

The image is just foliage in the park that I thought was interesting because it was being illuminated by a parked car's headlights.

Big Clive

It's apparently C20H10Na2O5 sodium fluorescein. Bought from a lab supplier.

Big Clive

Looks scary. What is it?

Have you done some testing with octoprint yet?

Do you ever use a high wattage incandescent lamp or similar inrush current limiter in series with the mains while working on possibly dodgy mains gear? Do you think that 'universal' voltage equipment is likely to last longer on 110 volts rather than 240v? - (less voltage stress / higher current tradeoff) Do you have a favorite response for a phone or similar that has just received a splash of water? (assume not easy / impossible to remove battery) Do you have a favorite contact cleaner spray? I remain surprised that the microUSB ports etc on the bottom of phones are as reliable as they are, given that the bottom of pockets accumulate fluff and dirt and the phone sits in the pocket on top of all this debris. Cleaning impacted debris out of microUSB sockets without damaging the contacts is an art.

I think Martyn Poliakoff is worth raising a glass to. His channel Periodic Videos is educational and fun. Plus his hair is fantastic.

What have you put in your gin "Fluorescein C20H12O5" or Fluoresceine Sodium Salt C20H10Na2O5"? And which one did you check was 'probably' ok for you to drink? Just asking...

Mike Hanley

On a dual 13A UK 3 pin socket. What should one allow for combined maximum current?

Andrew Donaldson

I will my best

Lee's Questions for during the stream Preferred Insulation Tape? I find cheaper brands lose their stick after a few years. I think 'Nitto Tape' is a pretty good brand but can go still go tacky if in contact with plasticizers. White has less problems than strong colors for some reason. How do you cut Insulation tape? I do the quick 'SNAP' holding tape firmly with both hands and snapping hands apart. Leaves slightly untidy edge but is fast. Method of cleaning tacky gunk left when old insulation tape is removed? I find IPA reasonable, Turpentine better? For some reason IPA works much better if cloth is extremely wet with IPA and very poorly once cloth is simply reasonably wet with IPA. Rather odd that being moderately wet works so poorly! If you are leaving a service note on a piece of gear for future servicemen, how do you do it? Quality sticker? Tag on string? Write on a bit of clear space directly on unit? Well done on the last quiet stream regarding mid-life crisis side effects / dark moods. You 'did good' bringing it up and discussing your observations so matter-of -factly. I find I often observe / feel odd things that on reflection might have a twisted / ancient basis on survival of the species to the detriment of the individual. In modern society those odd things / feelings are usually no longer relevant and need to be fought against. Very Well Done, Your audience will be better capable of analyzing their own moods or helping their friends after listening to your 'musings'.
