I thought this was going to be fake

This unusually cheap kinetic powered remote switch has the absolute simplest power generator in it yet.

The circuitry is very interesting.  It's got me thinking about other micropower applications that could be operated by finger pressure.

I was thinking along the lines of a Battery-Free wireless mouse. But beaten to it!

Not sure, but if you consider how they are often run as high power alarm sounders for hours at a time then they must be fairly durable.

I like these little modules they are pretty cool. I also like the RF circuitry. Very much my world.

I have a feeling the overlap of people who need an artificial heart, and who walk enough to power an artificial heart, isn't a large enough group to make it worth it...

Not surprised that range would be so limited. Use inside private vehicles and trains and such. What do studies indicate the lifespan of a such a crystal would be?

I just got it recently. Quite frustrating to get used to at first, just like the big DSOs.

I'm very interested in the Seed Studio mini oscilloscope and how it works. Have I missed a video about it?

Very interesting video as usual. Artisan Electrics, CJR Electrical and Nick Bundy do a fair amount of kinetic stuff in domestic installations. Whatever kit they use works throughout the house. There’s a brand of kinetic switch they use that fits an MK grid switch system for a universal appearance.

You could give it a try... Have your next of kin come & tell us how it went.

So putting piezo electric crystals in the heals of shoes to power an artificial heart isn't a good idea? Darn.

If I'm not mistaken, Philips hue released a four button remote several years ago that used piezoelectric to generate power and transmit the zigbee signal. I always wondered what additional circuitry was needed to move from the the basic piezoelectric that powers the barbecue lighter to the full-fledged switch that is smart enough to communicate wirelessly. Thanks for this teardown!
