Retro-style laid back disassembly video

After a long evening resolving annoying technical issues, I decided to chill out and do a more laid back teardown video.

Those motors are available in a wide range of voltages from 6V upwards. In dual motor water ripple effects I wire the 240V motors in series and they run fine, but a lot cooler than on full voltage.

I built a UV curing unit for resin prints a while back and used a synchronous microwave over turntable motor for the rotating mirror. Unbeknown to me the first motor I installed turned out to be a 30V AC motor - didn't last long on 240V mains. Where do they get 30V AC from inside a microwave and why not use a mains motor? So the next motor was stamped 230V and worked perfectly but it was very noisy. So I fitted a 220nF 400V capacitor in series and voila! no noise at all. The rotational speed and torque seem unaffected but it's now running quietly on about 130VAC.

Begging for LEDs inside the case.

I wonder what their run time is. I've looked at the type that can be run from USB power banks.

It might benefit from a spring, but I bet it would still settle into a single pattern.

GLue a small mirror on the magnet/arm and point a light or laser at it.. 🀣
