As predicted - not suitable for most advertisers

This new workshop thing is very exciting. Mine is a complete dump, but I have ADHD so I could have a beautifully fitted workshop and it would still end up being a mess.

It's fine. I've worked things out and should be OK with just somewhat less financial security for a while. I like to keep a reserve for unknown things in the future.

I'm glad you're getting my Youtube Premium revenue still :-) TBH the time I save not having to watch / skip ads pays for the Premium subscription. Plus I use YT Music and not Spotify, so actually the actual cost is even lower. (Although Google Music was way better than YT Music.)

I have YouTube Premium, so only see the ads when not logged in, and yes, you are absolutely right. The quality of the ads is terrible. The majority seem to be scams.

This is the one reason I have their stupid premium service still after they had the audacity to cancel google play music and then charge more for a replacement service that works worse. I want to support creators and I refuse to watch ads. Patreon is nice too though

Reason I joined here is because AvE got me wondering about monetization, creators and things I like. It is impossible for YT to sell these kinds of videos to a targeted advertiser, do they have to try the shutgun advertising approach, whatever is available is going to go as targeted ad. And this means I HAVE to directly support people I like to see on YT. Otherwise they will have no incentive to create. Bills need to get paid.

I think the "manual" thing is not totally true. It may just be a way to make it look like the algorithm wasn't the sole deciding factor.

Sad, the pc-ness these days....

It’s amusing they block monetization based on this. Seems like a niche market that would be well served by targeted advertising instead. Probably get an audience that would be a better fit for their ads. Rather than no monetization they should probably just say reduced. Does it mean they don’t show any ads over this content at all?

Does make you think what criteria these manual reviewers have to abide by. Is it a check list with no wiggle room for them to use some discretion.

I don't often comment but do feel strongly about educational videos that are not advocating vaping or smoking being demonetized specially as there is no logical reason to do so I will certainly continue to be a patreon so you can still make videos that have quality genuine educational value

yeah on THOUGHT police - try mentioning any non politically approved covid medical studies or new treatments - not pushing or proselytizing but just thoughts.. and you are BANNED - just for expressing yourself - hell I've had that with my doctor analysis with my reaction even on BC stream moderators. I GUESS you need your balls to swell up and go sterile AND have a POP STAR to get your reaction out there :))

Ironic really you still get paid when I watch it as YouTube premium which is paid by google through reviewing which they have not sent me this video to review such a shame but the questions you get asked you are sort of pushed into things so have to think carefully. The reason for me becoming a patreon was see parts of videos and have to vote and not see the end until released.
