Mystery Microchip IC

I've been exploring what appears to be a networked node for an elevator for call buttons in the car or landing, but have been stumped by the identify of a chip that is marked with Microchip's logo and the number gaa31070aaa1

Any ideas what it might be?  Microchip didn't have a datasheet and the many Chinese sellers have fake datasheets, or in the case of one, required me to set up an account before letting me see the "datasheet" then simply redirected me to Microchip's website.

(Yes I did set up a burner account on that sellers site.)

Unfortunately he wasn't able to get anything but will keep his eyes open

I have a friend who works for Orona lifts, He is going to see if they have any info about them

have you considered reaching out to either Howard Payne via Deviant Ollam?

So far I've deduced that the RSL (Remote Serial Links) network may be operating at RS485 voltage levels, but instead of using a dedicated RS485 driver, this PCB may be using a dual op-amp. I've not traced it yet to ascertain if that's the case.

This seems to be the thing. Looking around, Otis has a lot of part numbers that match this format. I don't know of any SSOP28 flash chips, so this is probably a preprogrammed PIC.

Found something with a similar number from 2005 load bearing control from an elevator https://wk.baidu.com/view/5de971084a7302768e993926?pcf=2&bfetype=new

How old is the device? Starting with GA it might be a custom gate array (I didn't find anything if microchip made such before)

I did consider a custom programmed chip, but there are quite a lot of Chinese sellers claiming to have it in stock.

if it was a high volume board, perhaps it was a pre-programmed OTP micro-controller direct from microchip. i've negotiated similar thing with providers on bulk orders.

photo of the board might help.

I don't suppose there is any obvious programming pins SPI/JTAG/UPDI etc? If so, you might be able to read a device IC from it.

What package is it in?
