Vintage vapes remonetised
Added 2021-09-29 14:06:02 +0000 UTCThanks to some of you with Google connections, the vape video was reassessed and then full monetisation restored.
Darn! Wish I'd held it back for a day or two now. But there were some less selective advertisers still showing ads on it.

I'm not sure how their system works. Even before being fully remonetised the video was getting ads from less delicate advertisers.

2021-10-03 23:03:40 +0000 UTCThis is odd... I have BigCliveDotCom youtube videos page open all the time. When I click a video link it opens a new tab... When trying to re-watch the now monitised vape video, there were no ads. Repeatedly refreshing or closing the new tab and re-clicking the link didn't bring up ads. It wasn't until I refreshed the BC Videos tab that the ads came back when clicking the refreshed links. its playing in the background as I type. makes me wonder how/if the monitisation status is kept in the link?.. (sadly I didn'i look at the link before refreshing)

2021-09-30 04:24:02 +0000 UTCI saw an ad and wondered what had happened!

2021-09-30 01:49:22 +0000 UTCGreat work Clive. You put a lot of effort into it for us, and I am glad that you will compensated again for it. Will go and watch it again now, and ask my friends to re-watch as well.

2021-09-29 20:15:40 +0000 UTCI wondered how that would work as well.

2021-09-29 20:14:33 +0000 UTCDo you still get any revenue from YouTube Premium subscribers if demonetised?
Christopher Smith
2021-09-29 18:55:56 +0000 UTCNo. That's excessively perverted. And would therefore probably be demonetized.

2021-09-29 18:18:07 +0000 UTCI think that might have been me? I poked some of my Google contacts about it.
2021-09-29 18:16:06 +0000 UTCIt proves you need to fight for what is right and you love. It does not take a lot to report a video for good things as well as report things like the 5G and flat earth idiots. Also it helps the metrics for your tuber by clicking the like buttons. Even a dislike can have a positive effect. Also watching from start to finish helps. Well on the last one I am guilty as fall asleep on live stream but do have it on from start to finish in the background in the workshop to make up.

2021-09-29 14:55:47 +0000 UTCThe problem with this process is that videos make a lot of their monetisation in the first few hours or days. This is good for the long tail of earnings but moots the hump that is created by all the subscribers and YouTube subscription notifications. Great win though. Glad to see the tech channels not letting it lie! :)

2021-09-29 14:29:13 +0000 UTCI’m going to go watch the video again twice at least and then share it with as many people as I possibly can on Twitter and Facebook!!!

2021-09-29 14:14:33 +0000 UTCI'm sure I'd be amazed at what remains monetized and what doesn't. These actions drive culture to some extent and I believe they know that.
