Faulty milk heater/frother autopsy

Another YouTuber (Thomas Nagy) sent his dead milk heater/frother for autopsy.

Very logical design with a retro touch to the power supply.  Probably to avoid using a switchmode type in a product involving liquid.

Pretty much what I expected inside, bar the standard transformer, I was expecting to see capacitive dropper or maybe a SMPS. As Wim said, the Nespresso ones (well one at both current and old work anyhow) have magnetic coupling, but all the others (Aldi & another brand) I have ever seen use the silicone seal like this one which seems a recipe for disaster.

Counter-intuitively those buttons can be unreliable, while the gold finger style can last a good while.

Like nadge? I'll try and remember that.

Judging from the writing on the pcb the controller is an HT46R005 ;)

Clive, i dont wanna be disrespectful, but this just hurts my ears. Thomas Nagy is a hungarian name and the "gy" at the end is a single letter. I dont really know how to explain pronunciation but probably the closest english letter for it is g or j

József Krisztián Kovács

The one I have used magnetic coupling to the frother through the stainless milk chamber wall, similar to those laboratory stirrers.
