Fixing a schmoo pump

I had to use an AvE reference for the shmoo.  This unit was failing to produce enough schmoo for satisfactory shmooing.

But it's fixed now.

The black LED thingy,is an IRsensor... Also used in flame detector circuits

I am a dues-paying member of Big Clive's Buying Club (BCBC) so I had to obtain a couple of these too. I purchased through US seller 'odem_yinga.' These two came with a 18650 cell installed (no capacity markings) and a non-standard recharge cable. It is a 3.3 mm OD by 7 mm long round plug. And there were no metal contacts in the ends of the battery compartment. The box says "3*AA" batteries. Thanks for adding more 'investments' to my portfolio! - Me-Yack

The LEDs are controlled from the microcontroller, but it's odd that their common connection is too. The only thing that comes to mind is that it is being used to allow the processor to sleep completely in standby with floating IO pins.

Big Clive

Could they have taken the LEDs to the controller so they could switch them as needed if they implemented the USB charger and Lithium battery?

I would be trying to find a way to introduce butane into the air mix at a small percentage to make explosive Robot Jizzzzzzz - but there again I like do do silly things as a 62 year old big kid! Good teardown vijeo though , very interesting construction of the pump assembly.

Always fun when to see come part and then one sees it and then it's, "Oh one of those!" (the pump where I think learned here as well) Clive you are wonderful and you are awesome. Now shut up or I will continuing saying nice things. Oh...SCHMOO! ...also FOAM NOZZLE!

I come for the schmooing, but then stay to clean up afterwards...

11:20 "Let's knock one out shall we?" Maybe later, I'm watching YouTube at the moment.

Happy schmooing

When working with Arduino and breadboard, I often use 2 digital outputs and one input (next to each other) for fx. a IR-remote detector. Saves some wirering. Just remember to set the 3 pin states in the Setup() method. I need to order a few of those soap dispensers. (by Ali maybe?) I have used the 'normal' soap version (from Dertol I think) but they are all broke. I did repair both of them. They worked for a few days - then one morning one had "emptied" it self all over my kitchen table - Looked like a porn movie gone bad :-)

fascinating breakdown of how it all works...

i have 3-4 of those foamy dispensers defective, i will now take them to bits to repair this filter-mesh. thanks for reminding me!

Andreas Dorfer

Nice to see how that stuff works.
